It’s Showtime brings its biggest anniversary celebration to date called “Sampu Sample,” a year-long festival of surprises that marks the program’s ten years of making Filipinos happy and invites all madlang people to not just have fun but also help in taking care of the environment and making a difference.
The country’s number one noontime show also looks back on its ten years by relaunching its well-loved classic segments.
In It’s Showtime’s “Classic Showtime” segment which was launched last Tuesday, October 1, past performers once again graced the show’s stage.
The first performer was the PHID Crew from Sampaloc, Manila.|
One of the most noticeable things in the group was their use of all-white contact lenses, which gave an impression that their eyes rolled. The idea originated from one of their groupmates who rolls his eyes whenever he is dancing.
“May isang kagrupo po kami na habang sumasayaw kami, tumitirik ‘yung mata niya, sinasadya po, parang ‘yon ‘yung adlib niya. Tumatak po ‘yon sa mga dancers, sa mga tao ta’s naisip po ng choreo namin what if lahat tayo tumitirik ‘yung mata?” one of the members explained.
What sets this group apart is that they are very inclusive, having different genders in their group, but moving as one in their performance.
The next performance was made by New Remix Fashionista from Lucena City, Quezon Province.
According to the judge Sunshine Garcia, they were like the Sexbomb with their concept, costume and aliw factor.
The last dance number was from Mama’s Boyz from Sta. Mesa, Manila. They received a standing ovation from the studio audience. According to hurado Jayson Gainza, they were entertaining and a total package.
