It’s Showtime keeps up the fun and laughter nine days before Christmas and its gregarious hosts would remind the Madlang People on Wednesday, December 16, not to worry about having a grand Yuletide celebration, receiving dream gifts or wearing the chic new clothes. They encouraged them to just be satisfied and thankful to God for whatever blessings they received.
In “Name It To Win It,” wherein two teams of hosts will compete, guessing a word or phrase based on visual clues. In this live episode, they would try to outdo each other on the different dance styles. Vhong Navarro’s team composed of Karylle, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz got a perfect score while Team Vice Ganda with Ryan Bang, Tyang Amy Perez, Ion Perez, and Jackque Gonzaga ended up with 18 points.
After the quarterfinalists on Tawag Ng Tanghalan were whittled down to four from the competitions on Tuesday, December 15, these remaining four contenders, Eivan Darrel Enriquez, Ayegee Paredes, Donna Ricafrente, and Opalhene Rose Paghubasan faced each other again to prove why they are worthy of entering the semifinal round by performing “hugot” tunes.
Eivan went first with his beautiful rendition of “Hatid” by the Juans, revealing how his relationship with his boyfriend turned sour and toxic. Opalhene then followed singing her version December Avenue’s “Kung Di Rin Lang Ikaw”, relating how she deeply felt the message of the song even if she hasn’t experienced the situation being narrated. Ayegee would take the stage next performing “Ikaw at Ako” by Moira dela Torre and Jason Marvin, dedicating it to her boyfriend, to whom she would like to express her love even more. Donna capped the day’s competition with Ben&Ben’s “Sa Susunod Ng Habang Buhay,” which he dedicates to her late father, who would always cheer on and support her when she joins singing contests. Because of her emotional rendition, Donna got the highest score of 96%, while Eivan got 94.3%, Ayegee garnered 93.7%, and Opalhene got 92%.
Jugs and Teddy then played the fun challenge “Walang Tunugan,” in which contestants must complete tasks in the quietest way. Teddy tried to open a bag of chips and eat two chips in the most quiet way possible and within a decibel not higher than 55. Teddy, however, failed as he reached 56.9 decibels. Jugs also failed to do the challenge as he laughed in the middle of doing it. The second challenge was to get at least 20 marbles and transfer it into another bowl within 40 seconds and 50 decibels only. However, Teddy once again went beyond the required decibel level and lost, but Jugs succeeded. The last challenge was to move the toy car by going through some obstacles within 60 seconds and 50 decibels only. But then again, the two hosts failed to do it.
