Vhong Navarro ‘got offended’ when Vice Ganda mentioned the word “pango” on It's Showtime Tuesday, October 15.
When Teddy Corpuz hit the gong to signal the start of their Tawag ng Tanghalan segment, Vice noticed that the gong's sound differently.
“Ba’t ganon ‘yung tunog nung gong ’pag ikaw ang humahampas? Parang tunog pango,” he commented.
“Aray! ‘Yung ilong ko na naman tinamaan ah,” Vhong suddenly exclaimed.
The Rocksteddy frontman then said the sound was full and big.
“Pango pa ‘yung lagay na 'yon? Buong-buo nga, ang laki-laki, eh,” he said then hit the going again.
Vhong then noticed why the hosts look at him whenever the word “pango” is mentioned.
“Ba’t ’pag pango binabanggit, tumitingin kayo sa’kin?” he asked.
The hosts denied it and told him that they were just talking to Teddy.
“You are pango and your nose is beautiful,” Vice assured him.
“It’s what makes you cute, Vhong,” Anne Curtis added.
Vice told him that being called ‘pango’ is not offensive. Instead, it makes him Filipino.
“Pinoy ako,” Vhong stated proudly.
When Anne sang “Ako’y Isang Pinoy,” Vhong made her stop because, according to him, the end lyrics were painful.
“Hindi naman masakit ‘yung kanta, ‘yung boses mo ‘yung masakit,” Vice teased referring to how Anne’s voice.
