It's Showtime’s homegrown talent, TNT Boys comprised of Keifer Sanchez, Mackie Empuerto, and Francis Concepcion, joined forces with Idol Philippines’ Enzo Almario, Matty Juniosa, and Lucas Garcia aka iDolls to bring the online universe limitless, ‘pasabog’ performances in the 6th episode of “It’s Sharetime” online benefit show.
The interactive fund drive is part of ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN Foundation’s “Tulong-Tulong sa Pag-Ahon: Isang Daan sa Pagtutulungan” campaign that aims to provide relief for Typhoon Odette survivors. The current phase specifically targets to collect funds for home repair kits, as many of the affected families remain in evacuation centers.
While inspiring Kapamilyas to flex their strong spirit of ‘bayanihan,’ TNT Boys and iDolls delivered intense performances filled with vocal runs and riffs. Netizens were amazed to see the all grown-up TNT Boys reunite for the 2-hour mini-concert after a long hiatus during the pandemic.
“Nanibago po kami siguro sa mga itsura lang namin pero pagdating po sa pagkanta, andun pa rin po 'yung unity and pagbe-blend namin,” said Mackie. The trio’s talent was never waned by time and changes, proven as the opened the show with a mesmerizing performance of Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road.” Although, they now have to adjust the placement and divide the song parts based on their current voice range. Keifer explained, “Sa ibang songs po, si Mackie na po 'yung nagha-high ng harmony, ako po 'yung melody, si Francis na po 'yung naglo-low.”
Known for their earthshaking belting showdowns, the TNT Boys from It's Showtime’s Tawag Ng Tanghalan, can still reach those high notes but they’re currently trying to explore slow R&B songs that highlight their fascinating runs and riffs.
To level up the concert feels that night, iDolls of Idol Philippines made a grand, explosive entrance with their fierce and mind-blowing performance of Maymay Entrata's “Amakabogera,” followed by their electrifying rendition of “Proud Mary.”
Besides live streaming and singing in corporate events, iDolls also used the lockdown seasons to widen their artistry. Matty explores songwriting while Enzo will venture into acting via GL series “Sleep with Me” top billed by Janine Gutierrez and Lovi Poe.
To satisfy fans’ cravings for an iDolls-TNT Boys collab, the two groups engaged in “The Battle of Runs and Riffs.” Mackie and Lucas, Francis and Matty, and Keifer and Enzo sang in pairs. They also granted song requests throughout the show and repeated the cross-over sessions for their final acts.
