From giving us a fantastic The Greatest Showman-inspired number last 2018, Anne Curtis once again thrilled us this year as she and her team, comprised of Tyang Amy Perez, Bidaman boys, and some lucky madlang people, commenced It’s Showtime’s Magpasikat 2019 in a truly exhilarating note this Tuesday, October 22.

Team Anne-Tiyang Amy’s ‘buwis-buhay’ performance brought us back to the 10 successful yet challenging years of the program as they took us to a trip down memory lane by flashing four separate montages showing the milestones and unforgettable moments they’ve shared together, which they incorporated in their inspiring and breath-taking number.
The presentation opened with Tyang Amy, who was wearing a glittery brown body suit depicting roots, amazingly showing off her acrobatic skills, including a difficult headstand, while the children’s choir were singing The Chainsmokers and Coldplay’s “Something Just Like This” light sticks in their one hand.
On the second part, the Bidaman boys set the stage on-fire as they danced to Queen’s “The Show Must Go On” half-naked. A few of them even got us stunned when they stuck themselves onto the large metal scaffold while it was being flipped by the other Bidaman members.
Clad in a glitzy green body suit, Anne astounded us on the third gap, wherein we all witnessed how she once again put herself at risk as she seamlessly did death defying German Rhonrad wheel acrobatics, alongside Bidaman grand winner Jin Macapagal and an Australian gymnast to the tune with Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time”.
Their performance ended with Anne sitting inside a spherical framework while belting out “Forever Young”. As it was being lifted, Tiyang Amy was spotted hanging beneath it alongside other members of the crew and remained poised until the song finished.

Team Anne-Tiyang Amy’s performance was apparently their ode to It’s Showtime’s tumultuous success in the past decade as it represents their journey as a blossoming variety show, the challenges and setbacks they went through, how they stood up and moved on together from their downfalls, and being stronger than ever as they mark the newest chapter of their lives personally and professionally together – just like a tree.
