For Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray's birthday week, January 6 to January 11, she decided to spend time with the madlang people and all throughout her stay, she proved how smart and deserving she is to become the queen of the universe.
While co-hosting the It’s Showtime’s Mini Ms. U with Vice Ganda and Yorme Aaron Sunga, like the contestants, Catriona also shared her sentiments about different situations.
First on the list is her answer regarding students who cheat in class. The Queen said that she would not let her teacher know that someone was doing so.
"I probably wouldn't tell because I feel like when you cheat, you're cheating yourself first and foremost and you cannot go on in your life continuing that type of action," she said.
"Even if someone were to tell on you to the teacher or not, I feel like at the end of the day, you're cheating yourself," she added.
Following that is her answer on whether she will admit that she broke a glass in the kitchen to her parents. According to her, she has no choice but say the truth.
"I have to tell my parents kasi only child ako, there's no one else to blame," she said.
The queen of the universe then shared what her thoughts would be if a friend of hers did not invite her to their party.
"I would really wonder bakit wala akong invitation if we're super close. Baka I would call them and then I would like to hear the reason," she said.
"Baka may misunderstanding ’di ba, baka may miscommunication, may missent text," she added.
Fourth on the list is her thoughts on his brother or sister having better toys than her. According to Catriona, one should always focus on the blessings that one has instead of looking at others'.
"It's very easy to feel bad when you compare what you have to another person but you can compare it in life. You'll see other people having different versions of success, achieving different things, and if you keep detracting it to yourself and saying 'what about me?' you'll never see the blessings you have," she said.
"You need to always be mindful of the blessings that you have and be happy for other people cause you know one day it will also come back to you," she added.
Vice then said that her answer was beautiful but felt like it stemmed from a bigger problem, just like in the Miss Universe pageant.
"Ang ganda nung sagot niya, ‘no, pero nung sinagot mo na, parang ang bigat nung problema," the Unkabogable Star commented.
Reaching the half of the list is her opinion on whether she should treat her best friend's enemy as hers, as well.
"I would not because you should make up your own mind about how you treat other people. If they might be fighting with someone, that doesn't mean that you should also fight with them," she stated.
"But if you see your friend being bullied by this person or being acted out against, you should stand up for them," she added.
Sixth on the list is her answer on what she would do if her classmate left a valuable inside the classroom.
"You should bring it so that next time you see them, you can give it back. If you imagine you were to leave it then it's left your area of responsibility and you don't know who's gonna find it," she said.
"In that way, you do a small act of kindness and it's really in the small act of kindness that makes someone's day," she added.
The Miss Universe also said that children should not talk and trust people whom they do not know.
"You should definitely never go with a stranger especially if you're young. If they really pull you, you should yell very loud. It's better to be safe than to have the consequences," she said.
For the eighth, she stated what the "essence of sleeping" is. According to her, it is to "get rested."
Second to the last is her thoughts on her best friend having another friend, besides her.
"I think lahat tayo may experience na may isang kaibigan that has another friend pa tapos you're not as close anymore. Medyo ang hard, ’no,” she said.
"But I think in our lives naman, friends come and go and you make new friends and I feel like friends come into your life to teach you something and to take you to a certain phase in your life," she added.
The queen's take on what one should do if they see someone sad made it to the 10th spot.
"If you see someone who's upset, you should really approach them and ask them 'what's wrong?' instead of reacting agad," she said.
"You never know what it could be and then you comfort them naman any way that you can tapos kapag kailangan ng adult, you go and get the teacher," she stated.
Indeed, by sharing what she has in mind, Catriona has, once again, become an inspiration and role model for adults and kids alike.
