In the past 10 years, It’s Showtime has been our favorite companion every lunchtime, from Monday to Saturday, as it never fell short in providing us entertainment and happiness through its exciting segments and the enjoyable banters and kulitan moments of its outgoing hosts usually spearheaded by Vice Ganda.
From making fun of his co-hosts, as well as of the contestants and members of the madlang people, and dropping jokes or hugots and doing random stuff that never failed to make us laugh out loud, he recently came up with another way to keep us amused – by having an on-the-spot storytelling. The stories he shares are actually not about him nor any person we know, but are all fictitious and are in the form of legends or mga alamat in Filipino.
While those kind of tales usually cater to young children, we, adults, also caught ourselves too engrossed with every alamat that the Unkabogable Star imparts although we know that he all just made those up. Certainly, it’s because we are astonished with how he was able to spontaneously come up with stories about the unlikely origin of random objects that were every bit hilarious and we haven’t or will never read in any book nor online sites.
Even though he just started this new gimmick a few weeks ago, would you believe that he has already able to compose 10 full yet short pseudo-legends, enough for us to create this Kapamilya Toplist included in our month-long celebration of It’s Showtime’s “Sampu-sample” anniversary.
Click on this video to find out the quirky legends of “monay”, “saging”, “suha”, “chismosa”, “Vice Ganda”, “Divisoria”, “katol”, “bubot na chico”, “makopa”, and “sandok”, and see how Vice Ganda is not just an exceptional host but a compelling storyteller as well.
