“Buong-buo ‘yung puso namin na ganu’ng klaseng peformance ang nabigay namin sa madlang people,” Kim Chiu told ent.abs-cbn.com following her and teammates Jhong Hilario and Ion Perez’s Magpasikat 2023 act, which garnered positive feedback from the judges, with Director Olivia Lamasan calling it “outstanding.”
Team JKI tackled the threats of mobile technology and social media abuse in a powerful, electrifying number that fused contemporary dance, death-defying wall climbing-parkour exhibition, and their touching messages to their loved ones. Asked how they arrived at this concept, Kim acknowledged the brilliance of the writers on their team, “We really owe it to them and then in-execute na lang din namin, and then nag-collaborate na lang.”
Apart from the required physical energy, the budget and rehearsal dates are among the challenges they encountered. But, they managed to overcome the hurdles and successfully delivered their message.
“We live in social media. And then ‘yung last namin is pinapili lang kami kung sino ‘yung gusto naming kausapin na tao, first thing in mind na pumasok sa utak ko is ‘yung papa ko,” shared Kim.
Asked to rate their exhibition from 1 to 10, she said in her signature effervescence, “One hundred!”
