Jhong Hilario made his comeback on the Its Showtime stage and we love everything about it – from his disguise as a Tawag Ng Tanghalan contender to the display of organic friendship and the adorable reaction of his baby daughter Sarina. Everything was genuine and we’re happy Jhong shared the behind-the-scenes in a vlog.

In the video uploaded on his YouTube channel, we see Jhong arriving at the ABS-CBN compound for the Saturday, June 4 episode of Its Showtime. After going through health protocols, he stayed in a dressing room where his co-hosts wouldn’t be able to catch him.

The genius surprise, which they planned just a day prior, required Jhong to disguise as a TNT daily contender. So, to make it believable, he actually rehearsed the song “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko” with his “fellow contestants.” He also had to change his looks. The glam team applied fake beard using makeup, had him wear glasses, and instead of a wig, he opted for a hat. From Jhong to Friedrich Palacol real quick!

The Battle of Versions for the Tawag Ng Tanghalan begins and nobody noticed that Jhong was on stage until he broke into a smile in the middle of his performance. Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, and Kim Chiu, who were all standing beside the gong, had high-energy reactions while Vice Ganda turned emotional.

Viewers at home were ecstatic. But we’re giving the cutest reaction award to none other than the Sample King’s one-year-old daughter Sarina, who fought through sleep just to watch his dad on TV. We totally get why Mommy Maia was chuckling throughout. “Mas natatawa ako dito kay Sari,” she laughed. Well, same.
