Vice Ganda discloses how they conceptualized new club-inspired It's Showtime studio

It’s Showtime made sure that the Kapamilyas are going to have a blast on the last week of July as the well-loved noontime program didn’t only give us a fantastic opening number led by Unkabogable Host Vice Ganda, but also inaugurated its bigger and brighter new studio on its episode on Monday, July 25.

But a day prior, Vice gave the madlang people an exclusive grand reveal of their “new home” in his latest vlog. He started off the video by expressing his gratitude for ASAP Natin ‘To, which allowed them to use their expansive studio for a week while theirs was still being renovated.

He then proceeded on the studio tour, inviting their Executive Producer Trina to join him. As they entered the studio, he noticed that the walls of the audience entrance were replaced from wood to acrylic panels with matching lights that further brighten the area! He was able to spot their director Jon Moll, to whom he asked regarding the changes and the inspiration behind the new studio.

Direk Jon related that this was something they’d been planning about since December of last year. He uttered, “What we want to do is we want to create a space that creates happiness, that creates inclusions, something like club.”

When asked why they opted to have a studio that radiates ‘club vibes,’ he said that it stems from their pursuit of keeping the energy high and making the madlang people feel that they’re part of the show since they’re all here to be happy and have fun. This was seconded by Vice, iterating the purpose of people going to clubs, that is to forget about your problems for the meantime and just enjoy every moment you’re in it.

He then took us to the stage area, which has obviously gone more dazzling because of the LED lights that surrounded it and more spacious since the booth of DJ MOD and the area of the TNT Band were transferred to other locations. This made Vice realize that he and co-hosts Jhong Hilario and Vhong Navarro are going to have more space during their impromptu harutan moments. They also opted for the color blue as it triggers happiness and induces calmness and serenity, which balances the high energy that the show never fails to give off.

It was also revealed that they’re only accommodating 100 live audiences in each episode for the meantime as they have to still observe safety protocols. However, the audience area can be expanded once the restrictions get more lenient to accommodate more people.

Their EP Trina recalled that it was in 2017 when the studio last underwent construction, so it was inevitable that some of the equipment began to malfunction and give up, such as the lights.

As they moved to the audience area, he noticed a quite large space in the middle of it, which gave him an idea of ‘dragging’ his co-host Anne Curtis there in one of the days to come. He also showed the LED monitor that displays the time they had to consume in each segment – a.k.a. an indicator of whether they still have plenty of time or going overtime – as they tend to do the latter so often. He jokingly put the blame on his co-hosts who, according to him, were fond of blabbing while he’s the one who controls them. But we all know otherwise, right?

Mae-enjoy ng madlang people ‘yong pwesto nila kasi maluwag.

Then he added, “And, at the same time, ‘yong mga madlang people naman na nandito sa studio, relax din at enjoy, masarap [at] komportable ‘yong pwesto nila. At kami rin namang performers, mas lalo kaming ginaganahan kapag maganda ‘yong studio.”

Vice went on to goof around with Direk Jon and the rest of the staff and proceeded on showing the movable LED screen that amazed him, until he found out that it was being manually operated.

He capped off the vlog by enthusiastically inviting everyone to watch the upcoming episodes of It’s Showtime.
