Julianne Torres Reina ng Tahanan Journey

Almost six months after it started last May, It’s Showtime’s well-loved segment “Reina ng Tahanan” finally hailed its queen last Saturday, November 20, as ReiNanay Julianne Torres of Muntinlupa City was crowned the “Pinakanatatanging Ina”.

As she currently savors her reign, let’s look back on how she indeed shone and thrived throughout her journey in the pageant via this feature!

Right on the very first time that she stepped on the Reina ng Tahanan stage and heard how she confidently and wittily bantered with hosts Vhong Navarro and Vice Ganda in the initial interview as she recounted her husband’s grand marriage proposal and how it’s okay to wait for the right love the universe has in store for you, the madlang people arguably had a hint that she really had a shot to be the “Pinaka-natatanging Ina”.

With her impressive performance in the daily round, she garnered the highest score of 93.7% and was declared “Reina ng Tahanan of the Day,” besting contenders Tintin Dizon (89.3%) and Akilyn Tuazon (91.3%).

Julianne continued to hold on to her crown as she was proclaimed the “Reina ng Tahanan of the Week”, topping fellow weekly finalists Jo-ann Abella (91.3%), Sailyn Gonzales (86.7%), and Arlene Marcelino (90.7%) after earning the highest score of 94%.

And her winning streak didn’t end there as she once again got the highest score of 93% in the monthly finals, besting her contenders Lina San Antonio (90.7%), Irish Wico (92.7%), and Jenny Rose Sabanto (90.3%).

With her continuous victories, she was one of the Top 8 Reinanays who made it to the grand finals. Joining her were Diana Jade Salundaguit, Catrina Antonio, Zenaida Villas, Analyn Salvador, Lilia Aban, Yolly Magat, and Leona Andersen.

With how she mesmerized us in her shimmering, long, dark green frock, she was also bestowed the “Gown-dang Nanay Award” or “Best in Long Gown.”

Earning one of the highest scores, she became part of the “Royal 3” who proceeded to the final portion of the competition, along with Reinanay Lilia and Reinanay Leona.

Apparently, the “choose-gados” were truly impressed by her response to the final question, “Ano ang sasabihin mo sa isang nanay na ang pakiramdam ay wala siyang kuwentang ina?” the most.

And mothers, ‘yan si God equips mothers. Sinong may training? Nag-aral ba tayo sa school para maging isang ina? ‘Di ba, hindi? Pero kapag naging nanay ka na, parang instant, d’yan na sa loob mo ‘yong paano mag-alaga ng bata, paano mag-aruga kung may sakit…”

In the end, she was crowned as the “Pinakanatatanging Ina” of Reina ng Tahanan and took home a crown made by renowned jeweler Manny Halasan, whopping P300,000 cash, a milk tea business worth P248,000, a jewelry set worth P112,000, and a house and lot.

Congratulations, Reinanay Julianne!
