For his final performance before stepping in the Huling Tapatan stage, he truly showed he was a superb performer, showing the extent of versatility singing his own soulful version of SB19’s “Go Up.”
In the end, seemingly a portent of grand things to come for JM, he topped the Finals Week before entering the Huling Tapatan on Saturday, with a near-perfect combined hurado and text votes average score of 99.08%.
In the Huling Tapatan on Saturday, February 6, JM wasted no time in showing his stage brilliance and vocal intensity, singing a scintillating cover of The Animals’ “House of the Rising Sun,” which he dedicated to his estranged father. He would receive a standing ovation from the hurados for his memorable performance.
With his impressive number, his entry into the Final 3 in the Huling Tapatan with Rachell Laylo of Lipa City, Batangas and Ayegee Parenes of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon was utterly deserving.
For his performance in the second round, wherein he would sing a medley of select hit performer, JM surprisingly sang tunes of the worldwide pop star Lady Gaga, which he again did in his own way so effortlessly and soulfully.
Again he received huge acclaim for his incredible performance, showcasing his originality, extensive range and vocal intensity. This led to the final announcement of the grand winner—a toss-up between three equally reverberating and exceptionally talented singers.
And the announcement was made—JM is the Tawag Ng Tanghalan Season 4 Grand Champion, winning one million pesos, a house and lot worth two million pesos, a management contract from Star Magic, and a recording deal with Star Music!
