It has already been almost two months since It’s Showtime ceased staging in-studio shows and aired previous episodes instead in light of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Thus we’re thankful to see them do live shows again right from the comforts of their respective homes through the online video and audio communications platform Zoom.
Unfortunately, the cease-and-desist order filed by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) against ABS-CBN last May 5 has made it extra impossible for us to see the gregarious family who has provided us with good vibes and laughter every lunch time in the past decade.
With the network being in shutdown for more than a week now, it’s inevitable for the hosts to terribly miss the madlang people, who at the same time, yearn to see them back on-air again. So to uplift the spirits and to also ask for the continuous support of their avid viewers, a montage of clips showcasing some of the most hilarious, remarkable, and best moments of the noontime program through the years, as well as short video messages from the presenters and Direk Bobet Vidanes, was uploaded on Vice Ganda’s official Facebook page on Thursday, May 14.
Direk Bobet commenced it by thanking those who sent their well wishes and moral support to the network and assuring the Kapamilya audiences that they’ll do everything to put ABS-CBN back on-air and to fulfill again their sworn duty of making people happy.
Hosts Vhong Navarro, Amy Perez, Ryan Bang, and Jhong Hilario expressed how much they miss mingling with their colleagues and entertaining the madlang people almost every day.
Karylle and Teddy Corpuz, meanwhile, asked for extra prayers not only for the crisis the country is currently confronting, but for the latest battle that ABS-CBN is now in. The same with Jugs Jugueta who also conveyed how still hopeful he is that everything will be settled in the end.
As she’s been on maternity leave since December of last year, Anne Curtis imparted how it has given her the opportunity to experience being an audience of ABS-CBN and a recipient of its sincere and unconditional service to the Filipino.
On the other hand, Vice Ganda talked about how It’s Showtime and other ABS-CBN programs have been a significant part of the lives of most Filipinos, not just now that we’re in the midst of a pandemic, but in the past and coming years. He also wished that everything would turn out the way how God wanted it to be.
The heart-warming montage concluded with the hosts singing their theme song, the classic OPM hit “Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko”.
Note: The video messages of the It’s Showtime family were recorded before the developments initiated by Congress last Wednesday, May 13. However, we continue to ask for your support and prayers until ABS-CBN goes back on air.
Kapit lang, mga Kapamilya, hanggang sa tuluyan tayong muling magkasama-sama.
