As she turned a year older, but still more fabulous than ever, Amy Perez surprised the “madlang people” with an energetic Michael Jackson-themed birthday production number with her son, Kyle, on It’s Showtime.
Check out their preparations and all behind-the-scenes moments via Tyang Amy’s recent vlog on YouTube.
“Dapat ‘pag birthday, relax lang... Huwag pagurin ang 105 years old,” Tyang Amy joked that Kyle would take part in the dance number to save her energy as she still has the “Magpasikat” prod to prepare for.
In the video, Amy is seen introducing Kyle to the It’s Showtime choreographers and dancers. She mentioned that Kyle conceptualized the number, from the kind of music, costumes, and dance steps to include. The team then polished his ideas.
The young man is a huge fan of Michael Jackson, thanks to his mom’s influence. When Kyle was 11 months old, he witnessed his mother grieve the pop icon’s passing. And just by watching Michael’s concerts on DVDs, Kyle was able to absorb Michael's dance moves. “Umabot kami sa punto na sayaw na ng backup dancers ang ginagawa niya,” Amy said, proving how familiar his son is with Michael’s choreography.
Supportive of her son’s potential, she enrolled Kyle in a dance class with G-Force once. She also compiled all his random dance performances at home via videos uploaded on her Instagram page.
In the middle part of the vlog, Amy dared Kyle to a Q and A wherein the latter shared his plan to become a music producer in the States.
The video then cuts to Tyang Amy’s preparations in her dressing room, which her It’s Showtime family and beloved sponsors filled with balloons and cakes. Her younger child, Seyah, was present as well.
After the exhilarating dance showdown between the mother and son, the It’s Showtime hosts gathered on stage and gave their special birthday wishes to Tyang Amy. Among those present were Vice Ganda, Jhong Hilario, Karylle, and Jugs Jugueta.
