WATCH: Kapamilya celebs take on the viral Mathematics Dance on It’s Showtime

In the past years, many of us got hooked with various challenges kick-started by other countries online and tried to embark on the trend. But this 2019, we’re able to come up with our own challenges that totally made rounds not only on social media and among ordinary people, but also on television and with local celebrities riding on the bandwagon.

Just like It’s Showtime, which never fails to make the hosts, contest judges, guest performers and co-hosts ‘sample’ their own takes of every popular challenge – from the face-distorting yet rib-tickling “Dalagang Pilipina” and “Binatang Pilipino,” up to the groovy “Mathematics Dance Challenge”

Popularized by amateur dance troupe IconX hailing from Tayabas, Quezon, the dance craze was a brainchild of Geodetic Engineer Maezon Abella. In his interview in Rated K last May 29, he recalled that it began as a part of a school activity. If you’ve been dreading the said academic subject, this viral bop might help you overcome it and even enjoy it.

Check out the videos below to find out how these Kapamilya celebs took on the Mathematics Dance Challenge during their stints on the show!

Hashtags

As they supported their fellow Hashtag and good friend Rayt Carreon on the release of his latest single “Ano Bang Meron?” Zeus Collins, Wilbert Ross, Nikko Natividad, and CK Kieron didn’t leave him onstage as they showcased their own rendition.

Ate Girl Jackque and Kuya Escort Ion

In her pursuit of attesting host Vice Ganda that she’s a better lover than her rival Ion Perez as their love triangle skit continues in the KapareWho segment, Jackque Gonzaga dared him on a Mathematics Dance showdown. Despite not being a dancer, Ion wasn’t fazed and still showed us his snazzy moves.

Nadine Lustre

Even though she’s currently hitting the local music charts with her laidback, millennial tracks, Nadine Lustre proved that she is still in for upbeats trending beats as she enthusiastically took on the Mathematics Dance Challenge along with Bidaman winners.

BoybandPH

After swooning us with their performance, the talented and dashing lads of BoybandPH captured our hearts anew with their suave version of the said viral dance craze.

K Brosas and Angeline Quinto, featuring Bela Padilla

Ahead of their highly-anticipated concert this month, singer-comediennes K Brosas and Angeline Quinto dropped by the noontime program to promote and give us a glimpse of what we could expect from it. But after their feisty song number, the hosts requested them to exhibit as well their take on the dance challenge along with the Bidaman winners. The mainstays also didn’t let their guest co-host Bela Padilla to be excused from taking the challenge.

Hashtag Zeus Collins with Junior New System

He might not be able to grasp the steps on his first try, but Hashtags member Zeus Collins definitely astonished us when he performed the Mathematics Dance Challenge again on the It’s Showtime stage with red stilettos on and in a sexy and seductive style. Also flaunting their on-point rendition was the world-class all-male Pinoy dance crew Junior New System, who also joined Zeus in an exhilarating opening number.

Erik Santos and Yeng Constantino

They are known as versatile, great singers, thus we were so surprised to see that Tawag Ng Tanghalan hurados Erik Santos and Yeng Constantino also got the moves when the hosts urged them to try out the Mathematics Dance Challenge as well.

Who are going to be the next Kapamilya celebs to ace this fun challenge?
