Amidst the challenging circumstances we’re currently dealing, there’s definitely no stopping Kapamilya network from delivering great contents and relatable and inspiring stories to its fervent viewer! And this month, another series is set to touch our hearts (and even make us kilig perhaps!) – Bagong Umaga!
No teaser nor trailer may be released yet, but knowing the stars who will topbill this exciting awesome project – Heaven Peralejo, Barbie Imperial, Michelle Vito, Tony Labrusca, Kiko Estrada and Yves Flores – already gives us a hint that this is going to be a coming-of-age series that will tackle the struggles and joys of young adults. Besides, it also bears the tagline “Sa bawat pagsubok na haharapin, may #BagongUmagang darating!”
The project was officially announced last October 4 through a Facebook live session, wherein the six lead cast members enthusiastically talked about working on it and with each other, as well as how it is different from the other series or movies they starred in. According to them, they’ve started filming last September 25 and have been locked in their location for three weeks.
"Ipapakita talaga 'yong buhay natin. Ipapakita talaga rito na every day may new problem at every day ay mapapaisip ka kung paano mo 'yon haharapin. Kapag hinarap mo 'yon may mga taong makakatulong sa iyo at may mga tao ring papahirapan ka. Pero nasa iyo 'yon kung paano mo sosolusyunan ang problema na 'yon sa araw-araw,” Heaven stated, illustrating the plot of the series.
This is by far the biggest break given to Heaven and Michelle as Bagong Umaga marks their lead role debut. As we all know, Tony is well-known for his stints in iWant's "Glorious" and Sino Ang Maysala? Mea Culpa, Barbie was the leading lady in Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Araw Gabi, Kiko was among the stars of Pamilya Ko, while Yves just finished working on the recently concluded action-drama series A Soldier’s Heart.
Grateful for this new milestone in her life, Heaven took to Instagram to declare her appreciation for the huge opportunity bestowed to her.
"Super grateful for being entrusted with this project that it outweighs all the pressure! Thank you so much Direk Lauren! Would also like to thank all the people working really hard for this, @rgedramaunit , @vipyamienzo and my network, ABS-CBN. Excited for all of you to see this really soon!” the actress wrote in the caption.
Aside from the aforementioned six young stars, seasoned actors Rio Locsin, Nikki Valdez, Keempee de Leon, Cris Villanueva, Sunshine Cruz, Glydel Mercado, Bernadette Allyson, Moi Bien are also part of the ensemble cast. This is directed by Carlo Po Artillaga and Paco Sta. Maria and produced by RGE Drama Unit that is headed by Rizza Gonzales-Ebriega.
