He seems to be a happy-go-lucky guy. But what hides behind his smiling face and witty jests is a man who carries a huge responsibility on his shoulders—he’s already a father at 23 years old. Nikko Seagal Natividad, or simply Nikko, was a waiter before he joined the It’s Showtime segment Gandang Lalake, Kumakareer in 2014. His showbiz career eventually kicked off as he became one of the pioneer members of the all-male group Hashtags and a mainstay in the said noontime show. Aside from that, he can also be seen in other Kapamilya programs, including Umagang Kay Ganda wherein he’s a recurring host.
We only knew a few things about him, until he joined the last season of Pinoy Big Brother as a celebrity housemate and teamed up with fellow Hashtag McCoy de Leon. It was when he emotionally confessed that he already has a one-year-old baby named Aiden with his non-showbiz girlfriend.
When asked why he decided to keep his family secret from the public, he disclosed that it’s because he had to protect his image since he’s only starting in the industry, but it didn’t mean that he was shameful of them. He’s in fact proud that he already has a child.
Like any other father, Nikko only wishes the best for his son and to secure a brighter future for him. He would also provide him everything that he failed to achieve growing up in a broken family with financial struggles.
The revelation made him feel anxious at first as he feared how his career would fare after PBB, so he hoped to still have projects even though he won’t be famous. After all, his partner and Aiden are going to be the constant persons in his life when he gets old.
"Dadalhin ko po siya sa mall,” the It’s Showtime host uttered in tears. “Nagi-guilty po ako e. Nakabili na akong sasakyan; nakakain ako sa labas, pero iyong anak ko, hindi ko ho mailabas e. Gusto ko talaga siya isama."
Right now, Nikko continuously fulfills his promise of taking his son out and introducing him to the world through their Instagram accounts. They roam around together and are definitely having the best times of their lives.
We’re proud and happy for you, Nikko!
