Our noontime viewing habit would never be complete without joining the gregarious and amusing family of It’s Showtime. On its decade-run on television, the variety show has never failed to make us laugh with funny banters and hilarious remarks of the hosts, as well as the studio audiences and the contestants and judges of every segment they used to run and currently stages.
From being mere colleagues, or perhaps acquaintances, everyone on the show has found a new family in each other that resulted to lasting and strong ties that have already withstood the test of time, such as the admirable friendship among Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro, and Jhong Hilario.
It can be recalled that among the three of them, it was only Vhong who was part of the pioneer lineup of hosts while the other two used to be hurados or judges in the defunct segments they had on the first season of the It’s Showtime. But after weeks or months of making our tummies ache because of laughing too hard on his rib-tickling jokes and expressions, not to mention his regular comedy bar gigs, Vice’s flair in hosting and performing were discovered. Now, he is hailed the “Unkabogable Star” who people look up to, especially the LGBT community.
The same goes for Jhong who got promoted from being a judge to a host after exhibiting his impressive talent in comedy and hosting, not to mention his incredible prowess on the dance floor.
They might come from different paths before their stint on It’s Showtime, but this terrible trio has found not only real best friends, but trustworthy brothers as well who they can depend on in times of joy, despair, challenges, and triumphs. They might be too naughty onstage sometimes, which apparently transcends off-cam, but Vhong, Jhong, and Vhong are actually supportive, caring, and doting of each other in real life.
