We have always known Anne Curtis for her surprising, daring numbers in Magpasikat through the years. And, if you pair her with the equally remarkable and dauntless first-timer Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla in Magpasikat, it will certainly be a dazzling and breathtaking show.
Team Anne and Mariel, together with Hashtags Jameson Blake, Ryle Paolo Tan, Tom Doromal, and Kid Yambao, and GirlTrend Sammie Rimando brought us on the edge of our seats with their death-defying aerial stunts in their circus-like performance in Magpasikat 2018. Their concept came from one of the most sensational films in 2017 titled “The Greatest Showman”, which they restyled as “The Greatest Show Ma-Anne”.
Of course, we all know that pulling off such electrifying performance with the use of acrobatic moves requires a lot of practice. Their team spent a great amount of time in learning and mastering the needed techniques they used in their show.
Want to take a peek on how they did it? Let’s look on how Team Anne and Mariel rehearsed for their heart-stopping performance.
In this gallery, we can see how Ryle, Tom, and Kid, dubbed as the “Bouncing Boys” in the act, worked on their slacklining performance. Slacklining might seem somehow similar to tight rope walking. But far from tight rope walking, slacklining is done with a dynamic line which will stretch and bounce like a narrow trampoline.
We can also see how the gorgeous Sammie transformed into the “Dangerous Darling” in her awesome act, and how she perfected the figure poses in her aerial silk performance. Aerial silk is performing aerial acrobatics while hanging on a fabric.
Lastly, seen in this gallery is how the “Swinging Sirens” Anne and Mariel prepared for their aerial acrobatics performance with the golden chandelier. As they did their aerial stunts, Anne and Mariel still maintained their unmatched poise!
Will their “buwis-buhay” act give them the crown? Let’s find out in the remaining days of Magpasikat 2018, as part of the 9th anniversary of It’s Showtime.
