It was indeed another fantastic weekend for the avid viewers of It’s Showtime as our very own and beloved Vice Ganda celebrated his birthday through the “Vice Party Ever” on national television.
Since he’s the one and only Unkabogable Star, his celebration, of course, was grandiose, from the props, outfits, song choices, and guests for his Madonna-inspired opening number.
He once again channeled his “inner goddess” by sporting blond curls and a fab headdress and donning a body-hugging and baring star-spangled one-piece black long-sleeved suit that he constantly paired with other articles of clothing in a series of costume changes. This reminded us of how he looked in the ABS-CBN Ball last year and the Grand Finals of Miss Q & A Intertalaktic 2019 last February.
Vice began his performance by belting out “Like A Prayer”, “Holiday”, and “Express Yourself”, followed by his rendition of “Rain” alongside Kuh Ledesma and Zsa Zsa Padilla. After warming our souls with his solo take on “Crazy For You”, his portion with Jaya and Pops Fernandez on “Music” truly got the madlang people in party mood. His ensuing duets with James Reid in “4 Minutes”, Sarah Geronimo in “Me Against the Music”, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid in “Lucky Star” totally thrilled everyone.
After bestowing us a concert experience on his special day, his It’s Showtime family took their turn to surprise him as well by giving him vinyl records of OPM icon Joey Albert and global superstar Mariah Carey, to which he jested that the staff finally got him the perfect gift after almost a decade. But their surprise for the 43-year-old all-around performer didn’t end there as the two of the top leaders of our country today – President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo – also extended their well-wishes for him through pre-recorded video greetings.
The Unkabogable Star’s family was also there to join the party, especially his beloved Nanay Rosario, who imparted that her son gave him a poignant excuse letter the day before. According to him, it read, “Dear Mrs. Viceral: Please excuse your son, Tutoy, for always being absent due to his professional obligations. Hoping for your kind consideration. Respectfully yours, Your Loving Anak Tutoy.”
Although it seemed that he already has everything a person would probably wish for in life, Vice Ganda said that there’s one thing he would like to ask everyone and it is to “Sana suportahan n’yo rin ako 'pag nagmamahal ako at 'pag may nagmamahal sa akin.”
Happy Birthday, Memeh Vice!
