Team Karylle and Jhong, whose bug-themed mesmerizing musical on diversity and inclusion, amazed and astonished the Madlang People was adjudged the Magpasikat 2018 winner.
Jhong Hilario and Karylle’s performance about a higad-ipis offspring named Ipad’s journey to self-discovery highlighting individuality and self-acceptance stood out among the equally impressive and exceptional showcases, by getting an average score of 9.4 points, with a cash prize of P300,000.
After winning this year’s title, both Karylle and Jhong thanked their staff and crew for their passion and dedication in putting their “world-class” performance into fruition. They also thanked their families and colleagues from their other projects for their patience and understanding so they could put time and effort into the ambitious production number.
Team Vice and Tyang Amy’s colorful, inspirational depiction of the power of dreams landed runners-up in this year’s Magpasikat by notching an average score of 9.2 points, with a cash prize of P200,000.
Team Anne and Mariel’s spectacular “Greatest ShowMa-Anne” that heralded superb acrobatic and aerial stunts became this year’s 3rd placer garnering a score of 9.0, with a cash prize of P100,000.
The yearly Magpasikat, wherein hosts are grouped to compete with superb, surprising, creative, and grandiose performances, marks It’s Showtime’s anniversary celebration—its ninth this year.
