Father’s Day is a special day for all those tireless and dedicated dads who’d do anything for their children out of true, unconditional love. And, this definitely holds true for our It’s Showtime hosts, whose dads surely guided them through and supported them throughout their journeys as individuals and eventually as artists.
Truly, the happiness they give each day is truly indicative of their wonderful, blissful ties with family, especially with their dads. The Madlang People may not know a lot about them, but these dads of our It’s Showtime hosts have made an incredible impact and influence in their lives. Here they are:
Vhong Navarro’s Daddy Danilo Navarro
It was not beyond our knowledge that Vhong Navarro’s father was hospitalized last December 2017. This Father’s Day 2018 is the first time Vhong will celebrate it without him. Before his father passed away last January, we have been given an opportunity to have a glimpse of their father and son bond.
On one episode of Magandang Buhay last August 2017, Daddy Danilo gave a heartwarming message to Vhong. He expressed how proud he is of his son and extended his gratitude to Vhong for supporting their family. Vhong was thankful for the interview for he revealed that his father is a very timid man. He also got emotional in sharing how much of a fighter and a strong man his dad is, because Daddy Danilo already have some health problems at that time. Vhong thanked Daddy Danilo for being courageous, and said that his courage became Vhong’s strength.

Anne Curtis’ Daddy James Ernest Curtis-Smith
A certified daddy’s girl is what she is—Anne Curtis’ bond with her daddy is something undeniably sweet. Corresponding to their closeness, Anne revealed that Daddy James is a protective father to her. In an episode of Magandang Buhay last October 2016, Anne shared her father didn’t agree with her first steps in show business because he had doubts, but he eventually supported her. In one of her concerts, Anne expressed how much she loves her “gentle giant” and grateful that he is always there for her.

Vice Ganda’s Daddy Reynaldo Viceral
It was quite a long time since Vice Ganda laid eyes upon daddy Reynaldo Viceral who passed away in 1991. In an Instagram post on Father’s Day, he showed a pic with his smiling dad, who he remembers vividly and lovingly. In the caption, he said, “Yan ang TATAY ni TUTOY. Mabait pero mabagsik. Mapagmahal pero may saltik. Malambing pero namamalo ng bata. Matapang pero mababaw ang luha. Matalino sya pero marami rin syang mali. Madamdamin pero nakangiti. Mabigat pero magaan. Walang pera pero mayaman. Lumisan pero di lumayo. Nawala pero di naglaho. Sya si TATAY. Parang si TUTOY. Sya ang TATAY ni TUTOY.”
Karylle’s Daddy Modesto Tatlonghari
Daddy Modesto Tatlonghari is Karylle’s “shopping soulmate.” This is how Karylle described their father and daughter bond. In an Instagram post, she revealed that her husband Yael Yuzon calls them “Modesto Senior and Junior” because they have a lot of similarities, most especially when they shop. Karylle also said that she was used to going to tiangges because her father’s dental clinic was in Virra Mall, Greenhills, wherein they would spend their unforgettable “bonding time” as shopping buddies.
Jhong Hilario’s Daddy Virgilio Hilario Sr.
Makati City Councilor Jhong Hilario’s inspiration in entering the world of politics is Daddy Virgilio Hilario Sr. In an episode of Magandang Buhay, Jhong shared that his father served 34 years as an elected official—7 years as a kagawad, 18 years as a barangay captain, and 9 years as a councilor. Jhong said serving the public brings fulfillment as it conforms to his dad’s own mission. As such, Jhong always looks up to his dad, saying: “Wala na ‘kong ibang iidolohin pa kung hindi ang tatay ko.”

Amy Perez’ Daddy Abet Perez
“The most hardworking man I have ever known” is how Tiyang Amy Perez describes Daddy Abet Perez. In her Instagram post on Father’s Day last year, she shared that Daddy Abet taught her the lesson of adjusting in the work field. Amy thanked him for showing her how she should love and value her work. Amy also expressed how she loved daddy Abet by saying a simple prayer of wellness for him.
Billy Crawford’s Daddy Jack Crawford
A supportive dad is how Billy Crawford described daddy Jack. In an episode of Magandang Buhay in August last year, Billy shared how his parents guided him growing up, and he expressed how thankful he is that they gave him the freedom to decide for himself. Billy also shared in March how grateful he is that his dad is recovering from an ailment.
Jugs Jugueta’s Daddy Manny Jugueta
Despite losing Daddy Manny last 2015, Jugs Jugueta still continues to share how thankful he is of his father’s love. On his Instagram account, Jugs simultaneously posts photos of his dad and mom who also passed away in 2017. Jugs says that Daddy Manny is a loving father and he also expresses how he misses him always.
