Kitkat could not hide her excitement for her first ever Ipaglaban Mo role. She says that you just can’t consider yourself a full-fledged actor until you’ve done Ipaglaban Mo. She adds that even as a child, she already loved watching the legal drama even though it scared her every time. Like a masochist, she kept watching the show despite the fact that it always made her paranoid about the possible criminals around her.
This time around, the story revolves around Libay (Yen), a Pinoy OFW, who takes a chance in Hong Kong. She finds a job in a pension house where she meets Precy (Kitkat), a fellow Filipina. Kitkat shares that this is actually her first ever kontrabida role. The actress exclaims, “Pagod na pagod ako after, kasi ilang beses kong binugbog si Yen.” She explains that when they internalize their roles as actors, it affects them, the situation becomes real and they turn into their characters. She points out one scene in particular where she had to beat Yen up, her adrenaline rose with every take and it was so intense that she could no longer control how hard she was hitting Yen. She felt really guilty after and just kept saying how sorry she was. But Yen was very sport about getting hurt and even said that it helps her to get into the needed state of emotion for her character. They also talked about what may happen in the scene even before filming it. It’s just that they never expected that they would have to retake thjis intense scene several times to get different angle shots. But though it was emotionally draining, Kitkat insists that she’s truly happy that she got to play a villain this time because in her past projects, she always played the cute and sweet best friend of the lead character.
