Besides his good looks and musical talent, we also love Mark Oblea for his passion to pursue his dreams despite a few setbacks. In this episode of Kapamilya Chat, Mark recalls how moments of defeat led him to promising days.
Mark made it to the Top 12 when he joined Pinoy Boyband Superstar in 2016. But, of course, the goal was to win. “Hindi ko pa rin nakakalimutan ‘yung gabi na in-announce na hindi ako nanalo. Right after kong marinig ‘yun, parang bumagsak ‘yung katawan ko. Tinatanong ko sarili ko, ‘Ano ng next? Dito na ba natatapos ‘to?’” he looked back.
Life proved to be full of surprises and he was able to still make it to showbiz despite not winning in the contest. He realized that even challenges will soon serve a purpose.
“Sa lahat ng competitions na ginagawa natin sa buhay, manalo man tayo o matalo, laging may dahilan ‘yun. Kung natalo ka man, siguradong may dahilan ‘yun.”
There’s a saying that goes, “when one door closes, a window opens.” That’s what happened to Mark. Aside from launching his music career, he has now ventured into acting as well. He’s part of the drama series Init Sa Magdamag and he said he’s grateful for everything, “Nakakatrabaho ko na ‘yung mga iniidolo ko lang noon. Sobrang thankful.”
