Yam, Gerald, and JM on the risks, challenges, and steamy scenes in Init sa Magdamag

Topbilled by three of today’s hottest stars, Kapamilya series Init sa Magdamag is about to set primetime on fire. In a virtual press conference, the power trio of Yam Concepcion, Gerald Anderson, and JM de Guzman tease viewers about the show’s steamy scenes and challenges, among others.

After her gripping portrayal of ‘kontrabida’ roles, Yam will conquer her spot in the leading lady department. She plays Rita, an aspiring nurse who would eventually venture into politics.  Yam calls this project a test of vulnerability as an actress and a woman.

But, she thinks he’s far from these assumptions and there’s nothing to worry about the onscreen intimacy, noting her partner’s professionalism. “Hindi, eh. Kapag katrabaho mo si Gerald, he’s very professional. He’s very gentleman. Hindi niya pinaramdam sa akin na may mali siya or what. It’s just purely work.” Yam further lauded Gerald’s honest portrayal, saying he delivers genuine emotions.

Yam also shares sizzling love scenes with JM, which netizens compare to Hollywood film “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Viewers can expect Yam and JM’s scenes to be more mature and scorching hot since they’re playing husband and wife.

Gerald, on the other hand, talked about the challenges encountered for his character Tupe. He did a lot of new things for the series.

The greatest test, therefore, is to fit himself into the character.

Gerald realized through his role that we have different attitude in relationships. We have different levels of pain threshold when it comes to love. He said, “Iba-iba magmahal ang tao.

He and Yam are like strangers prior to filming, “Wala kaming pinagsamahan. I mean, we never had a conversation,” that’s why it was extra challenging to get intimate. It helped that Yam is an intelligent actress besides committed. “Gusto ni Yam ‘yung ginagawa niya, eh. She’s very passionate sa trabaho and very professional. Nababawasan ‘yung trabaho mo bilang leading man.”

He added that it was easy to break the ice, thanks to Yam’s humble and easy-going personality. She makes everything lighter.

Meanwhile, JM vowed that Init sa Magdamag is not just about the sexy scenes, calling the series a quality show. JM is looking forward to the audiences resonating with the teleserye’s characters and theme.
