Her on-screen chemistry with her Init Sa Magdamag leading men may be apparent, but Yam Concepcion actually doesn’t see both Gerald Anderson and JM de Guzman as boyfriend material for her. This was what she revealed in the on-the-spot “Trotropahin or Jojowain” Challenge hosted by her ever-reliable personal assistant Wella Mediana in one of the most recent vlogs in her eponymous channel.
But not only JM and Gerald were the ones who got “tropa-zoned,” or the guys who she only considers as friends, as she put all the names given by Wella in her imaginary totropahin list. Even though many ladies are shrieking over the sight of ultimate heartthrobs Piolo Pascual and Aga Muhlach; of her Halik co-stars Sam Milby and Jericho Rosales; and of charmers James Reid, Enrique Gil, and Daniel Padilla, they still failed to reach her standards for someone who could be her boyfriend.
The same went for It’s Showtime hosts Vhong Navarro and Vice Ganda, as well as for Matteo Guidicelli, who she confessed could be a probable jowa for her before he got hitched to Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo. Since none of them made the cut, it seems that only her longtime boyfriend Miguel CuUnjieng who passed for her.
Yam then proceeded on daring Wella to play the same challenge, too, which the latter initially refused until the actress began to drop names. And just like what she did, Wella also put all the personalities mentioned by Yam in the “trotropahin list.” Those included veteran actors Romnick Sarmenta, Richard Gomez, Dennis Padilla, Long Mejia, and Lito Lapid; seasoned artists Luis Manzano, Cogie Domingo, Patrick Garcia and Jason Abalos.
While the list Yam made was really unusual as her way of poking fun at Wella, the latter stated that she didn’t want to be in a relationship with anyone from show business because she already knows how complicated it is going to be. This prompted her to ask the actress how she deals with bashers, to which Yam willingly responded.
“Wella, alam mo, ‘wag ka na lang magpaapekto kasi ang importante hindi ang opinyon nila. Ang importante, ang opinyon ng mga mahal mo sa buhay at saka alam mo sa sarili mo na wala ka namang tinatapakang tao, wala kang bina-backstab na tao, ‘di ba? So, okay ka kasi sincere ka and you’re doing good, wala kang kasalanan (inaudible),” Yam expressed.
The 33-year-old actress then recalled how they met through child star Xia Vigor, who was her co-star in ABS-CBN’s 2016 daytime series Langit Lupa, since Wella used to be her personal assistant. Yam continued by sharing how she immediately admired her on the onset and how thankful she is that everything fell into place, which enabled Wella to work for her especially during her lock-in taping for Init Sa Magdamag. Yam thanked her for making her life a lot easier in the set.
