They might came from troubled past affairs, but Michael de Mesa and wife Julie Reyes-Eigenmann restored their faith in true love with their strong, long-lasting bond as husband and wife.
We see him everyday as Roman Dela Vega, the powerful and level-headed businessman and a possessive and frightening patriarch to his family, in the late morning series Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin. However, Michael de Mesa is totally different in real life.
Going through his Instagram account, he’s obviously an amiable and youthful man who loves to spend time with his family, especially with his five charming grandchildren. He is a proud dad to his six children and a very devoted husband to Julie, a member of the prominent dance group Hotlegs.
Their 13-year age gap seems not to be a problem for the couple, who have been married for seven years now. They have found a lot of common denominators with each other, such as penchant for travel, food, working out together, and simply making fun of themselves. Besides, they also support one another in pursuing their respective endeavors – Michael with his acting career, and Julie with her dancing exploits.
In 2010, they decided to reside in the United States to start a new life away from the limelight and try working on other fields. However, they realized that they wanted to witness personally their grandchildren growing up and their system relentlessly missed doing what they are more passionate about, thus they went back to the Philippines for good in 2015.
The couple seemed to have discovered a fountain of youth with their natural way of always looking fresh and feeling young at heart – their genuine love for one another.
