Breakthrough stars Charlie Dizon and JC Alcantara, together with actress Sherilyn Reyes and TikTok sensation Marilou Opeña joined host Toni Gonzaga for a revealing Valentine’s Day episode of I Feel U. The episode also featured Himig 11th Edition contenders Sam Mangubat, Davey Langit, and Kritiko.
Sherilyn expressed utmost glee with the accomplishment of Marilou, her house helper turned TikTok personality, with whom she has done viral short videos for the platform. One of those already garnered 14 million views as of this writing. Marilou has been working for Sherilyn for 15 years and the actress said that she has always been considered part of the family. She said she’s at ease when Marilou takes care of her children because she knows she can trust her. Because it’s Sherilyn’s birthday, Marilou wished that she won’t be stressed anymore because seeing her getting depressed also affects her.
Promising actor and “Hello Stranger: The Movie” lead star JC Alcantara then appeared to express his gratitude to the movie’s producers, Black Sheep, for his biggest break in showbiz. JC said he will always remember all the struggles he encountered in bid to become an actor. He said he never gave up despite all the rejections and trials he encountered. JC is also very thankful for the massive support that he gets from his family and from his fans, as well. At first, JC said he was worried that the public would rebuke the premise of the Hello Stranger series and movie, since same-sex relationships are still generally frowned upon in a very conservative society. But he is thankful that Hello Stranger was warmly received from the time it first streamed as a digital series up to the production of its film version. In answering the question on how important it is to have a big heart when it comes to reaching your dreams, he said, “Kailangan mahalin mo ‘yung trabaho mo para mahalin ka rin ng mga tao sa paligid mo.”
Charlie Dizon, the bright, illuminating Best Actress of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2020 then shared to Toni that even up to the present, winning the prestigious plum for “Fan Girl” and starring in the hit movie “Four Sisters Before The Wedding” during a crippling pandemic has still hasn’t sunk in. Charlie said that everything happens for a reason since she really did not expect bagging the “Fan Girl” role. Now a recognized actress, Charlie will star in the upcoming series Viral that will revolve around the story of a girl in a controversial viral video that turned her world upside down.
Meanwhile, Himig 11th edition interpreters Davey Langit featuring Kritiko and Sam Mangubat, who are set to battle it out in the Grand Finals on March 21, also shared their thoughts on competing in the long-running song competition. Rapper Kritiko said it will be his first stint in the contest as an interpreter performing in a collab with Davey for the entry “Ang Hirap Maging Mahirap.” This is also first time he would perform a tune not his own, but he hopes that he would still do justice to the song he will perform with Davey and make the composer, Kenneth Reodica, pleased with his performance. The piece speaks about the daily challenges of most Filipinos no matter what social class they come from.
Sam, for his part, said that while he is grateful that they can still perform despite the situation, he’s kind of sad that there wouldn’t be an actual audience present who could watch their performance. Davey agreed, further adding that this won’t let them stop giving out their best performance. Sam then sang the tune he will interpret, “Kulang Ang Mundo” written by Daryl Cielo, which revolves around the positive aspects of loving someone. Davey also sang lines from “Ang Hirap Maging Mahirap,” with Kritiko doing the rap part.
