Kapamilya teen idols Edward Barber and Darren Espanto have come a long way since joining the reality shows that opened them the doors of showbiz. And with their attitude and talents, there is no doubt that these young artists are here to stay.
Darren’s potential is often lauded even by the biggest music icons in the industry such as Lea Salonga, who said in a past interview with Toni Gonzaga, that she considers him as one of the best singers of this generation. Hearing huge praises like these makes Darren more humble than proud. He said he still can’t believe that OPM legends are impressed with his singing, yet he is truly honored.
But if he’s going to pick the best performers among his contemporaries, Darren would go for AC Bonifacio because of her incredible talent, Ken San Jose who he described as ‘halimaw ‘pag sumayaw,’ and Jayda Avanzado for her wide musical expertise.
Meanwhile, Edward is about to celebrate another milestone soon – his transition from a teenager to a young adult. Edward feels happy that his upcoming 20th birthday is a day off from work. He looks forward to just enjoying that day with his mother and sister at home.
In light of the Father’s Day celebration, Edward and Darren were asked to pick one trait they would like to copy from their dads. For Edward, his Daddy Kevin’s proactive nature is just one quality he would like to practice when he becomes a father in the future. Meanwhile, Darren admires his Daddy Lyndon’s calm attitude.
Darren thanked Daddy Lyndon for all his sacrifices for their family and for always being around especially in times of need. He is grateful that his dad is there to guide him with solid advice about life, his craft, and his decisions.
Edward also greeted his Daddy Kevin a happy Father’s Day and he thanked him for the support and sacrifices especially in the last four years since he joined Pinoy Big Brother. He added that there was never a day when Daddy Kevin did not help him in his struggles.
