Every weekend evening, Luis Manzano has never failed to entertain us and leave us laughing with his droll banters and kulitan moments with the SINGvestigators of I Can See Your Voice, making the audiences truly admire the bond formed among them. And he’s apparently the same towards his family in real life, especially to his beloved mom -- Batangas Representative Vilma Santos-Recto.

Going through their lovely photos in this gallery, we can say that he indeed grew up tightly-bonded with his mom as he gamely poses with her regardless of his age – may he be a cute chubby boy, a lanky bespectacled young man, or the dashing man that he is now.

We’re also able to witness their unmistakable closeness through their various television interviews and appearances in the past, wherein they admiringly talked about each other, reveal one another’s secrets, and imparted some of their most memorable moments together.

In her Magandang Buhay guesting in 2017, Vilma related that part of their mother-son bond is Luis’ gesture of bringing his girlfriend at their home for her to meet, yet she denied intermeddling with his affairs. In fact, she has already given her blessing to them and is actually wishing for them to bestow her a grandchild. 

 

 

“Hindi po ako nakikialam sa love life ng anak ko. Nagkataon lang na because of our foundation as a family, ‘pag may gusto siyang dalhin at ipakilala sa pamilya, hindi niya pwedeng hindi dadalhin at ipapakilala sa pamilya hindi dahil gusto kong makialam. My God, Lucky is mature enough to decide for himself,” she stated.

On that same interview, she expressed how proud she has been of her firstborn, saying, “Kung nasaan man ang anak kong si Lucky ngayon, sarili niyang kayod ‘yan. Hindi niya kami ginamit ng daddy niya. ‘Yong sabihin niyang ‘my mom is Vilma Santos or my dad is Edu Manzano’? Hindi. Talagang he really worked hard kung ano man at kung gaano siya kagaling ngayon. And for that, I commend you and I love you so much. Proud of you, anak.”

 

 

In their virtual guesting in Star Cinema’s online talk show I Feel U last May, the 39-year-old sought-after host revealed how loving and caring his “momskie” is as she always checks on him and gets immediately frantic everytime he fails to reply to her text messages or answer her calls.

Aren’t Vilma and Luis’ mother-and-son relationship everyone of us are yearning for?
