This weekend, I Can Do That, the hit international reality talent show of celebrities will become the newest weekend habit. Eight (8) Kapamilya celebrities will try to prove that they can also do challenging and show-stopping performances that they have never done before. Today, let us get to know more JC Santos, one of the 8 I CANdidates, as we look back at some of his performances in Kapamilya shows.
On the ASAP stage, JC showed off his singing skills when he performed a heartwarming rendition of “I Will Be Here” with Kim Molina.
JC became a household name when he portrayed the role of Ali in the primetime series Till I Met You, also starring James Reid and Nadine Lustre. In the series, JC impressed the viewers with his acting prowess while showing his versatility as an actor in both comical and dramatic scenes.
Even before Till I Met You, JC became the lead actor of an episode of Ipaglaban Mo entitled #IMbintang. He played the role of Gino, a gay man accused of rape by his lover’s girlfriend. The episode also starred Regine Angeles and RK Bagatsing.
Before he became a film and television actor, JC started acting in theater. He studied Theater Arts at the University of the Philippines Diliman, and musical theater at the Circle in the Square Theater School in New York. He starred in several theater productions such as “Orosman at Zafira”, “Adarna”, Fluid”, “Bilanggo ng Pag-ibig”, “Games People Play” and “Constellations”. He recently appeared in a production of “Buwan at Baril sa E Flat Major”.
JC also worked at Hong Kong Disneyland and at Universal Studios Singapore as a singer and dancer.
