Behind-the-scene photos: Dimples’ compelling journey as Fatima in Huwag Kang Mangamba

The true mark of a brilliant, exceptional actress is when she can create a new life out of the character she portrays. Dimples Romana lives up to this description, with her natural ability to sketch different multi-dimensional personas from good to evil and make them all iconic.

After giving us the strong and independent yet loving Amanda in The Greatest Love and the fabulous kontrabida Daniela in Kadenang Ginto, the actress serves us another character to love – this time a mother with a good, courageous heart in Huwag Kang Mangamba.

In what seems like a fusion of the two teleseryes, Dimples is reunited with her fellow The Greatest Love actors Sylvia Sanchez and Nonie Buencamino, and her young co-stars in Kadenang Ginto Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, Kyle Echarri, and Seth Fedelin collectively known as The Gold Squad.

Dimples is all-praise for Andrea and Francine who she describes as “amazing actresses with hearts of gold.”

She hopes viewers will also adore their new characters akin to the warm reception of their previous portrayals. In Huwag Kang Mangamba, Dimples plays the plum role of Fatima, a former rebel who fell in love with the soldier Samuel (Diether Ocampo). She is the mother of Mira (Andrea) and Joy (Francine Diaz), who are both clueless about their true relation. Whether she also has connections with Sylvia’s Barang and Nonie’s Mayor Simon, only the next episodes hold the answer.

For now, viewers get to see and are actually impressed with the unconventional permutation of flashback scenes that gradually establish the enigmatic backstory involving Fatima.

Known for her versatility and chilling performances, Dimples will surely etch another character that will leave a positive impact on the viewers. In some behind-the-scene photos, she’s seen holding a rifle while posing with Diether – perhaps a hint of some action-packed encounters to watch out for.

Dimples’ inspiring, role-model qualities in real life also make her a perfect fit for the teleserye. On and off-cam, she encourages viewers to grow their faith in ‘Bro’ and make prayer a constant habit to connect with Him.

Secrets and revelations are unearthed each night, so don’t miss an episode of Huwag Kang Mangamba on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
