Still taking the lead in the digital realm, ABS-CBN Entertainment teps into a new milestone with YouTube exclusive daily series “How to Move On in 30 Days,” its first collaboration with the video streaming platform.
“This is actually the first collaboration between ABS-CBN Entertainment and YouTube, so this is going to be our first foray into creating original narrative content for YouTube. Masaya lang itong konseptong ito. Magaan, nakaka-in love,” said Roldeo T. Edrinal, Head of Dreamscape Entertainment.
The fresh tandem of Maris Racal and Carlo Aquino combine their rom-com expertise in the collab series that circles around Jen (Maris), a goal-oriented talent handler trying to forget an ex who dumped her for fame; and in the process of moving on met Franco (Carlo), a barista, surf instructor, and boyfriend for hire.
Adding zest to Jen’s moving on journey are Jai Agpangan and Kyo Quijano as her quirky best friends Sara and Anton, respectively. Albie Casiño plays the fame chaser ex-boyfriend Jake, and Sachzna Laparan portrays the new girl Anastacia.
Maris gushed over working with her new onscreen partner, “Isang dream come true na maka-work si Carlo as a leading man… Pinagkukwentuhan namin ‘yung mga characters namin. Inaaral talaga namin ‘yung script, kung saan kami nanggagaling. Sobrang nakakatawa lang kapag may ganung katrabaho.”
In turn, Carlo had a great time doing the series with the actress-singer. “Mahal ko na kasi si Maris noon pa, lalo ngayon sa project namin na ‘to. Thankful lang ako doon sa pinagsamahan namin,” he said.
Also in the cast are John Lapus as Jen’s boss, Elly; Phoemela Baranda as Carla; Sherry Lara as Lola Chedeng; and Poppert Bernadas as Franco’s friend, Jimmy.
“Something light, something fun, and something young. This time around, hindi tayo makakarining ng mga sobrang iyakan at sobrang away but more on life drama ang concentration natin,” promised director Roderick Lindayag.
Besides the vibrant cast, the series also treats us to mesmerizing and carefree visuals with La Union as the main backdrop. As director Benedict Mique put it, “The place was beautiful. Makikita n’yo when you watch it, very relaxing ‘yung atmosphere.”
For the artists, the location made bubble life a little more enjoyable, as well as the bond they formed. “Pagod pero hindi mo nararamdaman ‘yun kasi ang gaan ng samahan, hindi lang sa mga co-artists ko, pati sa staff and crew,” shared Carlo.
