Carlo Aquino and Maris Racal combine their youthful charm and rom-com expertise for the first time via “How to Move On in 30 Days.” And they can’t help but get excited for the show’s premiere this April 4.
In their guesting on Kapamilya Chat, Maris and Carlo showed signs of excitement talking about the series. Maris, playing Jen, a broken girl determined to forget about her ex within 30 days, said she’s waited so long to get this kind of project, which she also dedicates to her supporters. “I know din na matagal ‘tong hinintay ng mga fans ko. Naha-happy ako na finally nakakakita sila ng mga ganitong acting from me, and projects din. Happy ako.” It was also her wish to be paired with Carlo.
While pressure is an inevitable feeling, Carlo eases himself up knowing they’ve made a good output, “Hindi mawawala ‘yung pressure pero natatabunan ‘yun ng excitement at saka confident ako dun sa ginawa namin.
In the story, he portrays Franco, a barista, surf instructor and part-time boyfriend for hire.
The tandem went on to talk about their co-stars, starting off with digital influencer Sachzna Laparan, whom Maris described as her “ka-vibe.” She revealed, “Sobrang chill niya. Ang saya niya pala kakwentuhan! Sobrang jologs niya, as in ang saya niyang kausap.
Carlo only had limited scenes with Sachzna but he remembers their surfing scene, as well as the lemon-cucumber tea she gave him, “May isang beses na tuturuan ko sila mag-surf, natakot lang ako para sa kanya kasi medyo payat si Sachz. So, nag-aalala ako.
Albie Casiño was their energetic fitness guru. Kasi nakakahawa ‘yung energy niya,” enthused Maris. Carlo added that Albie works out before and after taping, and in-between if he could. Even if he only gets two hours of sleep a night, Albie still never runs out of enthusiasm.
They’re clearly a bunch of perky individuals, and even newcomer Kyo Quijano easily fit in. He’s chatty and cool, the exact opposite of Carlo’s first impression of him. Sobrang sarap kasama! Walang boring na sandali ‘pag kasama mo’ yun.”
Maris noted Kyo’s eagerness to get the hang of his job, considering he has just transitioned from a YouTuber to an actor, “Isa ‘to sa mga first projects niya pero sobrang professional niya. Willing talaga siya matuto. Minsan, may mag tinatanong pa siya sa akin.”
She’s proud of his improvement throughout, “’Pag may small victory siya, nandiyan ako para i-cheer siya, ‘Galing!
Off-cam, he’s a super-friend material. “Ang sarap niyang gawing barkada at saka, alam mo ‘yun, kaladkarin ‘pag meron kang pupuntahan. Ang saya niyang kasama. Sobrang straightforward at totoo niyang tao,” she described Kyo, who plays one of her best friends in the series.
The lead stars could also vouch for Jai Agpangan’s pleasant personality, as Maris put it, “Ang bilis niyang mahalin.” Jai shows up at work eagerly prepared. “Dadating siya memorized niya na lahat ng eksena niya for one day.
Carlo added that Jai works hard even on rest days, “Magkakasama kami sa resort ng kaibigan ko. Kaka-start lang ng rest day ha, tanghaling tapat ‘to, lunch time nagme-memorize na.”
The barkada fun transcends from off- to on-screen. So don’t miss out on “How to Move On in 30 Days,” ABS-CBN’s first YouTube exclusive daily series, streaming via ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube Channel Monday to Friday, beginning April 4.
