Teen stars Andrea Brillantes and Francine Diaz prove to be the perfect tandem in concocting endearing, dramatic scenes for a teleserye. They continue to capture more hearts through their performances in “Huwag Kang Mangamba” so here are seven scenes that showcase these future Drama Queens’ most intense acting showdown in the newest Kapamilya series.
The first scene in this Kapamilya Toplist features Joy (Francine) and Mira (Andrea) getting to know each other following their miraculous resurrection. The young actresses were able to depict their characters’ opposing personas. The blind Mira is devoted to the Man above while the angsty Joy questioned His existence. Their conflicting viewpoints resulted in a discussion about science and faith. Mira stressed that believing is not limited to seeing while Joy has long tossed her faith onto the past due to a myriad of sufferings.
The next scenes roused more sympathy for both characters, even for the cold-hearted Joy. They opened up about their longing for motherly and filial affection. Francine showed astounding talent in making the viewers understand her pain. She gained sympathy and she made her character appear lovable despite the lack of faith. Andrea as Mira has likewise captivated everyone with her endearing performance as the newfound friend who would understand where Joy’s anguish is coming from.
The conversation about their mothers revealed so much of Andrea and Francine’s knack for drama. It was followed by an impressive confrontation about the existence of miracles. Coupled with emphatic dialogues, their portrayals were on point as they depict humanity’s different views about the supernatural. Mira once again underscored that she walks by faith and not by sight, thus being blind is never a hindrance in discipleship and living with unwavering hope. She’s content with the life she’s given. On the other hand, Joy and her endless questions forced her to challenge God.
Proving their acting maturity, Andrea and Francine manage to keep up with veterans like Eula Valdes playing the community faith healer Deborah, Sylvia Sanchez as the street dweller Barang, and Mercedes Cabral portraying Joy’s stepmother Agatha.
There was a scene where Mira tried to approach Deborah, prompted by God to spread His word. Mira sharing her encounter with God resulted in a commotion, with the public ganging up on her. Deborah also pretended to cast an evil spirit out of Mira’s body to debunk the latter’s claims.
It was the second time Mira experienced the malevolence of Deborah’s supporters. Barang wasn’t there to shield her from the hate but she thankfully got defense from Joy, who boldly defied Agatha’s order.
The final scene in this video montage shows Mira receiving her sight from ‘Bro.’ Her face expressed full beatitude while that of Joy gave out signs of disbelief. Andrea and Francine delivered natural, breathtaking performances in yet another miracle scene,
