After captivating us in Kapamilya Gold, teen actress Francine Diaz moves in to primetime. By watching her stunning performances as a troubled teen in Huwag Kang Mangamba, it’s clear to see that Francine deserves her spot. We know you couldn’t get enough of her brilliance during the show’s pilot week, so here’s a video montage showing five of her best acting moments in the newest inspirational Kapamilya drama.
Francine gives a powerful performance in the lofty, emotional role of Joy, a teenager whose yearning for filial care coated the heart with bitterness. The video opens with Joy in a mesmerizing scene with her father Samuel played by seasoned actor Diether Ocampo.
The young star delivered a breathtaking tapestry of emotions – pain, frustrations, longing, anger, and love. It was her chance to open up to Samuel before he goes missing again because of work. Joy told Samuel that she feels like a stranger in their own home, unloved, and neglected. Her stepmom and stepsister make her life a living nightmare but Samuel couldn’t see her pain. It hurts all the more that her father believes she’s capable of taking party drugs. Francine made her character look deprived of affection but full of both fragility and grit.
Eavesdropping on Agatha (Mercedes Cabral) and Sofia (Alyanna Angeles)’s conversation, Joy learned that her sister is the culprit behind the drug substance on her drink. Trying to tell Samuel about this, Joy found herself driving at night time on the way to her father. Pain and anger coupled with ineptitude in driving broke down Joy’s focus, resulting in an accident.
Here’s another moment to attest to Francine’s potential as a drama royalty. Home from the hospital, Joy tried to once again clear up her reputation to Samuel but Agatha and Sofia bent the truth with drama and lies. The frustration in her face left an immense impact on the viewers. Francine managed to collect sympathy from her audience.
In the next scenes shared with the show’s other lead, Andrea Brillantes playing Mira, she started to question God’s love and existence. Francine’s sweet character turned powerfully striking as she unleashed pent-up distress. She related to Mira her longing for a mother and a real family. It was evident that sorrow is one of the reasons why she stopped believing in God and miracles.
Watch Francine’s gripping performances as Joy in Huwag Kang Mangamba, weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
