Kyle Echarri Kapamilya Confessions

Taking a break from the drama and the intense scenes in the well-loved primetime series Huwag Kang Mangamba, Kyle Echarri graced the latest episode of Kapamilya Confessions to promote his newest album “New Views” and virtually mingle as well with his and The Gold Squad’s fans.

But before responding to the questions and shout out requests sent in by the livestream viewers, he enthusiastically took on first the “Pick-A-Song Challenge”, wherein he had to mention the song that first comes to mind in the situations given to him.

For the song he wants to dedicate to a special someone and the song that describes the status of his heart, he uttered “Reality” and “Give You Blue”, respectively, which are both by American soul and R&B singer Allen Stone.

The last song Kyle listened to and the song that he’ll listen to in any random moment and the song that he’ll sing in any random moment are just the same and he even sampled a bit of American rock band Third Eye Blind’s “Jumper”.

J.Cole’s “Workout” is his workout song, while Justin Bieber’s “Stay” never fails to make him dance. As he found it hard to choose one chill or good vibes song as he listens to a bunch of it, he cited the fresh track “Skate” by Bruno Mars, Anderson.Paak, and Silk Sonic as one of the songs from his on-repeat playlist.

Of course, he didn’t forget his own songs as he mentioned “Fuego” as his favorite song to perform and “Liligawan Na Kita” with Seth Fedelin, which are both from his “New Views” album.

The 18-year-old singer-actor then proceeded to the Kapamilya Confessions proper, wherein he answered questions about his new album and his stint in Huwag Kang Mangamba, as well as read some of the messages from the fans.

As he has “so many different inspirations, different people, different situations, different emotions”, in writing the songs included in “New Views”, he also doesn’t have any great influences when it comes to songwriting. However, he regarded Moira Dela Torre, who he fondly calls “mom”, as the one who have tremendously inspired a lot of composers in the industry.

While the fifth track in his album titled “As Long As You’re Mine” was inspired by a former crush of his, Kyle disclosed that “Liligawan Na Kita” is not dedicated to anyone, yet it was born out of a random jamming he had with Huwag Kang Mangamba co-star and fellow The Gold Squad member Seth Fedelin.

He also expressed his interest on writing and producing a song or songs for his good friend AC Bonifacio, who he described as underrated since not a lot people know that she’s not just a remarkable dancer, but an impressive singer too! Speaking of his friends, he also revealed that he has Darren Espanto to thank for in the creation of his track “Fuego” as D’ Ultimate Performer helped him write, as well as scrutinized his other songs.

Meanwhile, he divulged that filming Huwag Kang Mangamba in the midst of a pandemic and having to go through lock-in tapings is indeed hard, but they still carry on. They were supposed to enter their bubble again this week, but it got postponed due to the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila.

Despite the hardships, his co-stars, especially his favorite roommate Dominic Ochoa, make it easier as they get to bond on-and-off the set. He related, “I spend most of my time with the veteran actors and actresses more than anything because I learn so much from them and they teach me so much.”

With the highly anticipated arrival of new characters in the series, he teased everyone that audiences should watch out for the more exciting things that will happen not just to his character Rafa, but in the lives of other characters as well.

Aside from the aforementioned inspirational teleserye, he, Seth, Francine Diaz, and Andrea Brillantes – along with some members of the Squad Plus – also worked on the digital anthology series Click, Like, Share, which presents the stories of their respective characters who depend on social media to connect with other and express themselves, which would later on put their lives in danger as they began utilizing it recklessly.

When asked about the biggest learning he had this pandemic, he said that it would be having patience since he didn’t much have of it before. Meanwhile, he relayed that the one thing that can make his day instantly better is his little sister, who he loves so much.
