Mira Joy miracles Huwag Kang Mangamba

As we live in the world of uncertainties, negativities, and struggles, it’s arguably easy for us to lose hope and faith. But Huwag Kang Mangamba has consistently reminded us that miracles are still possible and we can surely get through all our trials and tribulations and turn everything in our favor as long as we strongly believe in God.

And now that the well-loved inspirational series is on the last episode of its “The Healing Finale” week, let’s look back on the five instances when lead characters Mira and Joy, compellingly portrayed by Andrea Brillantes and Francine Diaz, made us believe that prayers indeed work in this episode of Friday 5.

The townsfolk of Hermoso were surely engrossed when the news of Mira and Joy’s coming back to life after being pronounced dead for some minutes when they figured in an accident. This further strengthened their faith in the healing powers of Deborah (Eula Valdes), who they believed was the one to revive Joy, and at the same time saw Mira as an antagonist as she insisted that it was “Bro” who did it to her.

As she found it hard to persuade them to rekindle their faith, “Bro” cured her blindness that allowed her to be a living testament of God’s miracles and be a light to those people who were still living in darkness -- including Joy.

Since then, they’ve been creating miracles literally hand-in-hand. One of those was when Fidel (Allan Paule), the father of their friend Hans (Renshi de Guzman), came back to life after being fatally shot in a shooting encounter. We were able to witness a strong flash of light after the two girls held hands and intently prayed.

Their friend Rafa (Kyle Echarri) experienced Bro's miracle himself through their intercession when he almost figured in an accident at a construction area after a blinding white light once again flashed and “saved” him from catching the falling metal rods. He was hesitant and rather wished that He claimed his life so that he could finally escape his plight, but Mira told him that God apparently wanted him to be still alive.

Another instance that showed how prayer really works was when they’re able to stop Tomas (Dominic Ochoa) in his attempt to kill himself after the mistakes he committed had already taken a toll on his conscience and his family.

And lastly, when Mira’s heartfelt plea of bringing Elias (Christopher de Leon) back to life was granted after being gunned down by Armand (Richard Quan) during their encounter. This particular scene also proved that the good will always conquer the bad in the end.
