Andrea Brillantes shines as a versatile young actress through the years

Just like some of the brightest stars in the industry that we look up to, we have also witnessed Andrea Brillantes grow up and bloom both as an individual and as an artist. She has already appeared in several teleseryes throughout the past decade and is set to astound us with her sure-fire performance in the upcoming inspirational drama Huwag Kang Mangamba.

But before we get to meet her newest character Mira, a blind lady with an unwavering faith in God, let’s revisit first some of her most remarkable portrayals through the years in this Kapamilya Spotlight feature!

She had her debut in the kiddie gag show Goin’ Bulilit in 2010, but wasn’t able to “graduate” since she had to leave the show earlier to take on other projects. On that same year, she had her first-ever teleserye stint in the Precious Hearts Romances Presents Alyna as Sofia, the daughter of the titular character (Shaina Magdayao).

The following year, she started depicting the young counterparts of teleserye lead female characters through her appearance in Budoy as the young Jackie (Jessy Mendiola). In 2012, she was the young Veronica (Andi Eigenmann) in Kahit Puso’y Masugatan and young Celyn (Kim Chiu) in Ina, Kapatid, Anak, and also endeared us with her roles in Wansapanataym Presents Da Revengers as Isay, in Wansapanataym Presents Doll House as Emily, and in E-Boy as the boyish girl who loved fairytales named Princess.

In 2013, Andrea appeared in Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin as young Amanda (Cristine Reyes) and the Maalaala Mo Kaya episodes “Marriage Contract” and “Bimpo” as the younger versions of the lead female characters.

On that same year, he went on to score her first breakthrough when she was tapped to play the titular role in the incarnation of the iconic 80’s family drama Annaliza, which was originally top-billed by the late actress Julie Vega.

The 18-year-old bankable actress then went to star in another episode of Wansapantaym titled “My Guardian Angel” and in the primetime series Hawak Kamay alongside Piolo Pascual, Iza Calzado, Xyriel Manabat, Zaijian Jaranilla, Nikki Gil, and Yesha Camile.

She then astounded us with her dramatic chops as Lia Buenavista, originally by Jodi Sta. Maria, in the 2015 remake of the classic 2000s romance drama Pangako Sa’Yo.

In 2017, she became part of the cast of the daytime series Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin as Stephanie, the younger sister of Coleen Garcia’s character Isabel; of the “Louie’s Biton” narrative of the fantasy anthology Wansapanataym; and of the “Siopao” episode of MMK.

2018 had been a pretty busy year for Andrea as she appeared in three shows – in the fantasy-drama series Bagani, in the “Dakip” episode of the weekly drama anthology Ipaglaban Mo, and in her biggest break to date – Kadenang Ginto, wherein she amazed us with her compelling portrayal of the bratty antagonist Marga Mondragon-Bartolome.

Due to her unmistakable chemistry with her new love team partner Seth Fedelin, the SethDrea tandem was born. They comprised the elite group “The Gold Squad” with co-stars Kyle Echarri and Francine Diaz and have been delighting their fans through the vlogs they upload in the The Gold Squad Plus official YouTube channel.

Are you thrilled as us to meet Andrea’s latest character Mira? Well, you better not miss an episode of Huwag Kang Mangamba beginning on March 22, weeknights on  Kapamilya ChannelKapamilya Online Live, and A2Z!
