There’s an oft-quoted and cheesy adage that says “love is sweeter the second time around.” And ardent shippers of High Street characters Roxy and Archie, impressively portrayed by Xyriel Manabat and Elijah Canlas, strongly wish that it will happen in their relationship, especially now that they have an adorable son, Riley.

Roxy’s actions and decisions towards allowing Archie to enter their lives again are absolutely understandable and acceptable, considering that she never heard from Archie the whole time that he was in the United States with his family while she’s left here in the Philippines, pregnant.

Thus, she established the conclusion that he had already abandoned them and forgotten his promises and obligations to them, without knowing that he actually got imprisoned there. And it’s a grim secret that Archie only mustered the courage to ‘fess up about recently during the birthday celebration of their kid, in which a heated confrontation transpired among them and Roxy’s beau, Kevin (Ralph de Leon).

Even though there’s already a Doc Kevin in the picture, the supporters of the RoxChie tandem wouldn’t let their ship sink and continue to hope that there’s still going to be a second chance between them. And the 10 scenes in this Kapamilya Toplist feature are among the reasons that make them still hopeful for a “Part 2” for them.

Let’s begin with that scene wherein we could really see how hurt Archie was to excitedly go back here in the country just to find out that there’s already another man making his family happy and taking good care of them.

But since Archie’s younger sister Z (Daniela Stranner) was confined in the hospital, it was indeed impossible for them to not cross paths, which finally happened one day. Archie apologized for his absence and pleaded for Roxy to allow him to at least meet their child, but she was initially adamant due to the immense and burning hatred that she felt toward him for abandoning them and not fulfilling his promise.

Even though she was mad at him, Roxy apparently couldn’t help but still care for him and his sister, as evidenced by how she got emotional upon seeing them in a poignant moment together. Archie then had the opportunity to talk to her that same day, through which he expressed his love for and eagerness to make up to them.

However, she was still firm in not allowing Archie to see or come close to Riley because she assumed that he would file a request for shared custody thereafter, to which she would never agree. Despite Archie assuring her that he would not do that and calmly pleading to her, she warned about filing a temporary restraining order (TRO) against him.

And Archie’s efforts paid off eventually when, as if struck by fate, he had the unexpected opportunity to get close to Riley. That left Roxy really worried, but he assured her that he didn’t introduce himself to Riley as his long-lost dad.

In spite of being rejected by Roxy again and again, Archie refused to give up, especially when Z expressed how much she yearns to spend time with her nephew after their first-ever meeting. His prayers then got answered when he was able to finally get Roxy’s permission to take Riley out on a father-and-son date, but only for two hours. It may appear short, but the proud young father was already fine with it.

So, as his way of expressing his gratitude and appreciation for her change of heart, Archie didn’t only hand Roxy a basketball that was intended as an initial gift for their son, but also a stalk of flower that he just found on his way to the hospital.

We all know how palaban Archie is, which he’s able to showcase through his simple yet fiery clapbacks at Kevin when the latter attempted to demean him in front of Roxy during the opening of his café and bar venture. He repeatedly mentioned “anak namin” (or “our child”) on his face, which obviously annoyed Kevin, especially when he told him that Roxy had already allowed him to visit their house.

And lastly, whose hearts didn’t melt and eyes didn’t become misty on that scene wherein Archie and Roxy finally told Riley the truth. Just when they thought that he would be shocked and refuse to go with Archie, they were both surprised when Riley was even enthusiastic to go on a date with his dad, whom he initially called “Ninja Boy.” Roxy kept on reminding Archie to take care of Riley, and he assured her that he would be safe under his care.
