There is a new love team in town and it clearly shows strong ‘kilig’ potential in OKS’ (Online Kapamilya Shows’ “Hello Stranger.” This pair on-the-rise is that of Vivoree Esclito and Patrick Quiroz or Kookay and Seph in the trending BL series. For an experimental team-up, PatVoree has surprisingly made a striking entrance in the love team arena and they tell us how.
Besides the long established friendship, PatVoree’s chemistry stems from the equal amounts of effort and passion they give off. Vivoree explained it best when she said they are a ‘team’ for a reason. “Kasi pareho kaming gustong gawin ang best namin. Kasi ‘yung chemistry hindi pwede ‘pag isa lang, so dapat both sides may effort in working the chemistry.”
It is easier, off course, if there is physical contact between the on-screen pair, if they could share scenes eye-to-eye and get physically close to one another. But this isn’t the case for PatVoree as the new normal requires them to do their scenes virtually. All their ‘kilig’ encounters could only happen within the digital sphere, told through a series of online meetings, thus the need for effective communication. “Mahirap ‘yung nakatingin lang diretso sa camera and hindi sa ka-eksena. Pero the fact na ‘yung viewers nakitaan kami ng chemistry na-appreciate namin ‘yun. Posible pala mangyari na kahit hindi magkasama ang magkakatrabaho may chemistry pa rin,” Vivoree added.
The young artists also depend on the production team’s supervision to execute their scenes perfectly. Patrick said the impossible turns feasible if there is solid trust within the group. These young stars know how to listen, and in the world of showbiz, humility and discipline are the keys to making an artist or a love team durable.
Another factor why PatVoree seems effective is they are supportive of their lead stars. Patrick and Vivoree themselves are big fans of JC Alcantara and Tony Labrusca’s team-up. They feel ‘kilig’ over them, cheer and draw inspiration on and from them. Patrick shared that JC and Tony are giving their all in this project and they are cool individuals who get along well with everyone.
Patrick and Vivoree aren’t complacent, either. They don’t report on duty unequipped with research and perseverance that are strongly needed in the filmmaking industry’s new normal season. Vivoree mentioned that they needed to be aware of the show’s over-all concept and objectives. Luckily, they were undergoing acting workshops when the taping started, so their acting skills were consistently refreshed and upgraded.
Patrick added that they had to double their effort and patience in dealing with the new taping protocols. Of course, even the entertainment industry is affected by the quarantine policies, so artists are tasked to shoot on their own. Actors won’t survive these days with acting abilities alone. Everyone is required to put on the production cape as well and become jack of all trades. They need to learn how to fix their own makeup, wardrobe, set, and even camera angle on their own but with full virtual coordination with the production team.
The same experience happened for the Star Magic’s “Love from Home” pictorial wherein artists had to produce individual photos shot in the comfort of their own home. The results were stunning, by the way. According to Vivoree, she only had limited resources then and their house in Bohol was undergoing renovation. Patrick’s companions at home, his grandma and uncle, are not fans of technology. He luckily got help from a visiting cousin. The process might have been challenging yet PatVoree is grateful to be part of an inspiring platform.
Vivoree is still in Bohol, making the most of the rare quality time spent with family. The quarantine period is the longest she’s been home since becoming an artista. Meanwhile, Patrick’s ultimate quarantine activities are gardening with grandma, watching movies, and playing mobile games. Their acting workshops continue online as well.
To determine how effective Patrick and Vivoree are as a love team, they took on a Compatibility Test and the result was impressive. Patrick confessed that he searched Vivoree up on the internet as part of getting to know his new love team partner. It didn’t come as a surprise, therefore, when he showcased extensive knowledge about her.
Patrick knows the name of Vivoree’s pet (Kenji), her full name (Ma Vivoree Nina M. Esclito), her exact birthdate (August 3, 2000), and her hometown (Bohol).
