Fierce and fiery are the words apt to describe Jade Flores (Yam Concepcion), the girl everyone loves to hate in the series Halik. Jade was introduced as a determined woman willing to go the extra mile for her dreams but this strong-willed and head-strong nature of hers turned out to be the fuel that ignited her burning journey as a mistress, a wife, and a mother.
Jade is dauntless enough to step into the warzone against anyone blocking her way even with her own husband’s relatives. The Bartolome household has become a hot spot of female feud a lot of times – from Jade’s verbal clashes against Auntie Fe (Daisy Carino) and Maggie (Jane de Leon) until the intense brawl she had with them; pushing Lino (Jericho Rosales) to drag her out of his abode. Even the most patient woman in the Bartolome clan, Nanay Dolor (Amy Austria) once lost her temper due to Jade’s stubbornness.
There was no one who can make Jade back off from any kind of battle; especially not her long-time rival, Jacky (Yen Santos). Fate seems fond of pitting these two women against each other. Jade’s jealousy and skepticism were aroused when she discovered that Jacky has crossed paths again with Lino. But instead of just confronting her husband outright, Jade found herself trap in an illicit affair with Jacky’s spouse, Ace (Sam Milby). Both Jade and Jacky’s seemingly peaceful marriages were entangled into an intricate web of lies and temptation until they both explode in anger. The result was a series of female skirmish comprised of hair-pulling, slapping, and scandalous scenes.
Jade’s relationship with Ace started out as something sinful and immoral but Jade did not mind leaving Lino behind for her other man’s sake. Yet, karma stormed off towards the mistress as she found out that Ace was just playing with her, and their recorded love-making was the last straw that made the game over. So, from secret lovers, Jade and Ace turned into nemesis. Of course, Jade had bad blood with Ace’s parents, Paeng (Cris Villanueva) and Helen (Almira Muhlach) as well.
Most especially, Jade’s blissful marriage with Lino turned into a nightmare of heartache and spite; leading to all sorts of battles between them. Starting off with heated arguments and confrontations until the uncontrollable disputes led them into a courtroom war.
Another villain came in the middle of the story in the person of Aliyah (Bianca King) who was added into Ace’s list of flavors of the month. While Aliyah arrived at the time when Jade has already moved on from Ace, there was still no stopping the two fearless ladies into becoming enemies.
It has quite become Jade’s trademark to lock horns against almost everyone in the world but to stride into a fight with her best friend, Marissa (Nina Dolino) is surprising. Yet, their argument in an open park, where they talked about Marissa’s secret life, was simply rooted from issues of dishonesty and misunderstanding.
Since the time when the universe has condemned her for her mistakes, Jade’s journey has become quite exhausting and awful as she defended herself in tons of warfare. But will she ever get tired of fighting it out and embrace forgiveness instead?
Find out the answer in the last few episodes of Halik.
