He’s been in the industry for 13 years, yet Sam Milby remains to be one of the most bankable actors in the incessantly growing local entertainment industry.
Just like some of our beloved stars in the present, Sam started off as one of the housemates of Pinoy Big Brother Season 1. He might not be among the original 12 participants, but he was undeniably one of the most favorite and most controversial. Who would forget the instance when the show got suspended for one episode because of his very ‘intimate act’ with housemate Chx Alcala.
While his luck in the reality program ran out after his eviction on the 77th day, a stellar showbiz career was waiting for him outside the house. With his hypnotizing charm and amazing talent, he won a lot of hearts, catapulting him to become one of his generation’s ultimate heartthrobs.

Despite being a newbie, he was able etch an indelible mark in the minds of the viewers as he effectively delivered one of the famous teleserye lines in history: “I never said that I love you”.
Due to its tremendous success, the primetime series had its sequel after six months billed Maging Sino Ka Man: Ang Pagbabalik, in which he reprised his well-loved character Jaime “JB” Roxas-Berenguer, who was at that time got hitched with Celine Magsaysay, played by Anne Curtis.

The 34-year-old actor had his first taste of fantaserye when he was tapped to join the Anne Curtis-starrer Dyosa and portray Prinsipe Adonis, the good-natured son of the underworld leader Tadaklan (Carlos Morales) who helped the chosen goddess to defeat his evil father.
In 2009, he was given the opportunity to exude his talent in romantic comedy after landing the role in the Filipino remake of the Korean drama bearing the same title Only You. He played Theodore “TJ” Javier Jr., an arrogant wealthy businessman who yearned for a complete family. Along his journey in finding his mom, he met the gumptious Jillian (Angel Locsin).
He was also among the Kapamilya stars who joined the faith-based series May Bukas Pa, wherein he guested as “Boss Jeff”, the ill-tempered and ruthless crippled owner of a toy factory.
As a part of the anniversary celebration of Precious Hearts Romances Presents, the network launched “Impostor” in 2010 starring Sam as Anthony Florencio, the love interest of Maja Salvador and Melai Cantiveros’ characters Mariz and Devin, respectively. The International Emmy Awards recognized the show with a Gold Medal under the Best Telenovela Category.
The multi-awarded actor was initially known for his musical talent, thus, his stint in the musical dramedy 1DOL probably thrilled his fans because he was able to showcase his singing prowess. He took on the role of Vince Serrano, the apple of the eye of Sarah Geronimo’s Billie Suarez.
At the same time, his short gigs in Mara Clara, as one of Mara’s (Kathryn Bernardo) star-studded ‘Sweet 16’ escorts, and in 100 Days to Heaven as Ruel Villanueva, were also anticipated.
In 2013, the Filipino-American singer-actor headlined the romantic-comedy Kahit Konting Pagtingin alongside Angeline Quinto and Paulo Avelino, personifying the deadpan Adam Ledesma.
On that same year, he became the leading man of Philippine Drama Queen Judy Ann Santos as he played as her abusive and deceitful husband Eros Diomedes in Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.
In the next year, Sam once again got involved in a fantaserye production through the recreation of Mars Ravelos’ Dyesebel. Taking on the role of the merman Liro, he turned out to be one of the main antagonists who got blinded by his love with the titular character and his jealousy with her intimate connection with the human Alfredo (Gerald Anderson).
In 2015, he amused us once more with his special participation in the family-oriented primetime series Nathaniel in which he portrayed Armen, one of the warrior angels who helped the lead protagonist in conquering the bad enemies.
And in 2017, he returned to the afternoon block when he joined the soap opera Doble Kara as Sebastian “Seb” Acosta, the leading man of one of Julia Montes’ characters Kara who turned his back to the seminary in order to pursue their blooming romance.
Now, brace yourselves for another brilliant acting performance of Sam as he portrays Ace Corpuz, the unfaithful husband of Jacky Montefalco, played by Yen Santos, in the upcoming primetime series Halik which is set to start airing on August 13, replacing Since I Found You.
