Halik hits record 2.9 million views on IWantTV

Halik made history on iWantTV as it set the record of having the most number of views since it premiered in August.

The riveting tale about marital infidelity and betrayal quickly climbed to 2.9 million views in October, and is now the most watched show on iWantTV, the over-the-top (OTT) digital viewing platform of ABS-CBN.

Alongside Halik, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Ngayon at Kailanman, and a host of other content, such as other ABS-CBN shows, free movies, and PPV titles brought IWantTV to reach a high of 1.2 million active users in three years.

Online viewership of Halik is indeed phenomenal, as it tripled the average views of all the Kapamilya shows on the platform in June, which hovered around 400,000 to 600,000 views per week.

Produced by the acclaimed RSB Drama Unit behind such superb dramas as Wildflower and the Precious Hearts Romances Presents series, Halik stars Jericho Rosales, Yen Santos, Yam Concepcion and Sam Milby, with Amy Austria, Romnick Sarmenta, Almira Muhlach, Ria Atayde, Cris Villanueva, Hero Angeles, and Christian Bables, among others.

Director Ruel S. Bayani, who heads the RSB Drama Unit, attributes the teleserye’s success to its portrayal of “relatable and authentic” characters, whose journey in the narrative people find particularly cathartic.

In an interview with ABS-CBN.com Entertainment he said, “We zeroed in on the concept of infidelity and every time, we inject new insight, new learnings, and this has been so attractive to viewers ever since.”

“People may have gone through similar personal experiences in the past and they have not explicitly expressed how they felt. May gigil sila ‘pag napapanood nila. As such they would appreciate the characters of the four lead stars and invest heavily in what they go through and believe in them,” he added.

Halik, he stressed, was based and inspired by the Aegis song of the same title and conceptualized in collaboration with ABS-CBN Chief Content Officer Charo Santos-Concio who he said wanted a drama that is “genuinely Filipino.”

As the narrative starts to get even more fiery and exciting, with Lino (Jericho Rosales) and Jacky (Yen Santos) slowly finding out their spouses Jade (Yam Concepcion) and Ace’s (Sam Milby) adulterous affair, viewers would seem not to dare miss each gripping episode.

Viewers can watch Halik episodes on iWantTV simply by creating an account. The iWant TV app is available on iOS and Android.
