After almost a year of waiting for it to go on-air, the most daring and most scorching teleserye of the Kapamilya channel this 2018 is finally hitting our small screens starting August 13 after Bagani.
But what makes us excited to see Halik? Here are the reasons why:
The exceptional ensemble
The melodrama boasts a roster of cast comprised of top-caliber actors from different generations.
It is top-billed by promising actresses Yam Concepcion and Yen Santos, seasoned actor Sam Milby, and Asian Drama King Jericho Rosales.
Joining them are veteran and revered thespians Amy Austria, Romnick Sarmienta, Allan Paule, Cris Villanueva, Almira Muhlach, and Precious Lara Quigaman, and hotshots such as Jef Gaitan, Christian Bables, Hero Angeles, Jane de Leon, and Chai Fonacier.
The unmistakable chemistry
Finding the right artist to play a certain role is important, but establishing the connection among the actors is another thing.
It's the first time for Sam to work with his three co-actors, while it's the third time for Yen and Yam after starring together in Pure Love and All of Me where they also portrayed stiff rivals. Meanwhile, Jericho and Yen are working for the second time after they stint in Magpahanggang Wakas.
Although these are the case, the foursome's rapport is indeed apparent and solid as seen on the trailer and their media interviews.
The exciting plot
Halik follows the story of two couples whose marriages are marred by temptation, discontentment, misunderstandings, and other relationship problems.
Jacky (Yen) and Lino (Jericho) are star-crossed lovers whose relationship is hindered by circumstances that are yet to be unraveled. As they tread on separate directions, they fell in love once again and got hitched with Ace (Sam) and Jade (Yam) respectively.
But love, lust, and an unforgettable past would make their paths intertwine, resulting to either exhilarating moments or scorching clashes.
Although their unfaithfulness is already blatant, each of them will try to cover up their wrongdoings and fight for their marriage.
The relatable characters and concept
It may seem to be another dramatic tale about infidelity and rekindling broken relationships, but the upcoming teleserye digs deeper on the real-life experiences of couples and the challenges they have to overcome.
For sure, many of us will relate to the personalities of the main characters. Jade is ambitious and wants to have a secured life. Jacky yearns for acceptance and seems to be still locked up in her past. Ace is a certified womanizer who despite being married still flirts. Whilst Lino is a family-oriented man who doesn't want to be separated from his family in spite of getting married.
Besides, couples may also identify with the situations that will be shown in the series.
The intense scenes
Just by watching the trailer, we can say that we can expect to witness a lot of sizzling clashes among the characters -- from fights among the couples to the vehement confrontations between the legal spouses and paramours.
Aside from that, we're also looking forward on hearing quotable quotes, such as the remarkable line uttered by one of the cast members, "Ang mga mister natin parang mga tupa 'yan. Kapag hindi pinapastol, may tendency na maligaw."
Halik is helmed by auspicious directors Cathy Camarillo and Carlo Po Artillaga, created by Tanya Bautista, and developed by the Ruel S. Bayani-led RSB Unit, which is also behind successful productions Wildflower and Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Araw Gabi.
