Some of us probably used to despise Kristel Fulgar for portraying the role of Didith Pantoja, one of the mean girls who relentlessly terrorized Kathryn Bernardo’s Chichay in the 2013 teen romantic comedy series Got To Believe.
But in the recent years, the actress-singer has been able to capture not just our attentions, but our admirations too, as she consistently astounded us with both her acting and singing prowess that she exhibited in her television and movie appearances and on her video blogs.
While she has been playing supporting roles in most of her projects, she’s seemingly becoming one of those leading ladies in Korean dramas we’re binge-watching as fervent subscribers and viewers of her YouTube channel, as well as her followers on Instagram, couldn’t help but be thrilled every time she’s spotted with her debonair Korean friend Yohan Kim!
Tagged as “Big Boss” because of his resemblance with Hallyu actor and “Descendants of the Sun” star Song Joong-ki, Yohan is the CEO of a well-known skincare brand that was launched in the country in 2018.
In an exclusive interview with PUSH last year, the 25-year-old Goin’ Bulilit alumna recalled how the two of them met two years ago.
“Nagsimula siya the first visit ko sa Korea. Actually 'yong team niya, isa siya sa mga coordinator kasi ng event na fineature ko sa Korea at isa sa mga sponsor no’n, 'yong brand niya na Face Republic. And ‘ayun, isa siya sa mga nag-accommodate sa amin do’n," she imparted.
She actually thought that it was the last time that they’re able to bond, but their friendship blossomed even more in the Philippines. In one of her vlogs, viewers were thrilled when he surprised her during the premiere night of her 2018 film “Kahit Ayaw Mo Na” and they shared a sumptuous dinner afterwards while reacting to the comments of the subscribers who saw their videos together. In another vlog, we saw Kristel supporting him and goofing around with him during an event of Yohan’s company.
Moreover, her subscribers absolutely got kilig when “Big Boss” spent a day with her and toured her around the country’s famous Gangnam District. Despite his status, he enthusiastically heeded to her request to take over her vlog , did mukbang with her, and even obliged to be her photographer.
And even though we’re in the midst of a pandemic, the two never failed to spread kilig vibes to their ardent shippers as Kristel uploaded their first-ever song cover together. This is an OST of the phenomenal Koreanovela “Crash Landing on You,” and even sent “a big heart for everyone” through a clip of them adorably bopping to One Direction’s “Still The One”
For sure, many Hallyu fans out there are wishing to be her and thinking that she’s lucky to be friends with someone like Yohan. Well, she apparently couldn’t agree more as she wrote in her birthday greeting for him on IG, “Since I met this man, a lot of good things happened to me. People were saying I’m so lucky to meet a person like him. Yes, I am indeed lucky and grateful to have found a friend, an oppa and a mentor in him. Thank you @yk20k for being an inspiration to many. May God bless you more and continue reaching for your dreams.”
With all the thrilling shenanigans they’ve done for one another and together, we couldn’t help but wish for them to bring their friendship to the next level!
As we look forward on seeing them again together, let’s show our support and love for Kristel for now by watching the rerun of Got To Believe, weekdays on Kapamilya Gold.
