Johanna Celis, popularly known with her nickname Kiray, had been one of the mainstays of the kiddie comedy show Goin Bulilit who filled our Sunday nights with laughter. 

At a very young age, Kiray already knew that she would love to be in front of the camera. That’s why she took her chance to enter the showbiz industry as she joined the competition “Munting Miss U” aired in the now defunct noontime show program Magandang Tanghali Bayan. Even though she failed to win the crown in the competition, a new door of opportunity opened for her which also became her stepping stone in her prominent showbiz career. It was when she became part of Goin Bulilit along with the now successful actors and actresses of her generation.

During her stay in the kiddie gag show, Kiray was able to portray several roles including the troubled wife who was always teased by her husband. She also played the character of a loyal maid. She would usually be with her fellow Goin Bulilit alumna Miles Ocampo when doing these skits. Kiray would be the maid and Miles would be her boss/employer. But Kiray also portrayed big roles such as the Reyna Elena. Also one of the most memorable and funniest skits that Kiray did was when she appeared as that very assuming passenger on the train.

As Kiray eventually grew up and became more mature, she went back to Goin Bulilit to give some important relationship advice. And she was teamed up with CJ Navato. She also made us laugh as she portrayed as Liza Soberano’s character Cali in the hit movie “My Ex and Whys” as she did a parody of the scene where the lines “Pangit ba akoKapalit-palit ba ako?” were used. 

After her long stint in Goin Bulilit, she also became part of the cast of the youth oriented series Growing Up along with Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes. 

After that, Kiray also appeared in the teen show Luv U as Whitney Muñoz. Kiray has matured over the years and improved more as an actress but we’ll always remember her as this cute funny girl who gave us laughter and joy in Goin Bulilit.
