In the past 14 years, Goin’ Bulilit hasn’t only made us laugh with the droll jokes impressively executed by its talented and adorable cast members, but with their funny parodies as well of the television programs and movies we all loved to watch.
Now that the longest-running kiddie sketch comedy program approaches its final episode, let’s take a look back on some of the most remarkable spoofs they did that we are going to surely remember for a very long time.
“Three Wives”
The satirical version of the 2009 Korean drama Two Wives, which was also remade by ABS-CBN in 2014, this was starred by four of its most prominent graduates, namely, Miles Ocampo, Julia Montes, CJ Navarro, and Igi Boy Flores. It actually followed the narrative but with a hilarious twist in the end.
“Ang Probinano”
Almost a month after the TV adaptation of the classic Fernando Poe Jr. flick “Ang Probinsyano,” the gag show rode on its massive success as they created a spoof of it with Izzy Canillo playing the titular character and his twin. They kind of tweaked the storyline by turning FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s Cardo into a midget and calling him as “Nano” instead, which didn’t fail to make us chuckle.
It can be recalled that Izzy used to be the young version of Coco Martin in the action drama series Juan Dela Cruz.
“Pamalo Sa ‘Yo”
We all know how great the love story was of fictitious couple Angelo Buenavista and Yna Macaspac of the phenomenal soap opera Pangako Sa ‘Yo. But the satirical rendition of it presented by Goin’ Bulilit put the spotlight on their warring moms Amor Powers (Brenna Garcia) and Claudia Buenavista (Bea Basa) and set the setting in the Jurassic era – the period when the dinosaurs existed!
“Dolce Anone”
Loosely-based on the 2016 romantic series Dolce Amore that showcased the lovely mixture of Filipino and Italian culture, the comedy program gave it a touch of Japan by providing a “Japanese” on-screen partner to the female protagonist Serena, played by Ashley Sarmiento.
“My Super D with Mommy D”
The original had Oscar as the ever-dependable sidekick of the titular superhero, but in this hilarious parody, he was replaced by the mighty mom of boxer-turned-politician Senator Manny Pacquiao, Mommy Dionisia, who we fondly call as “Mommy D”. However, instead of possessing supernatural powers and trusty weapons, what she used in defeating the enemies were her special luxurious handbag and her killer dance steps!
“Matandang Buhay”
Imagine what the morning show Magandang Buhay will look like some decades from now? Well, Clarence Delgado, Izzy Canillo, and Josh de Guzman provided us a glimpse of what to expect by putting themselves in the shoes of the three momshie hosts Karla Estrada, Jolina Magdangal and Melai Cantiveros for this rib-tickling spoof.
“Train To Buwiseeet”
Ever since it began 14 years ago, Goin’ Bulilit has been known for its brave satirical take on the issues our country have been facing through the years. And the MRT dilemma absolutely didn’t simply slipped away as they humorously tackled it in one of their episodes by using the 2016 blockbuster zombie apocalypse film “Train To Busan” as the theme.
“My Ex and Whys, and Yesss!”
Just when we thought that this is only for kids and that the alumni’s service for the show is already over once they stepped out of it, we’re all delighted to see Goin’ Bulilit graduates CJ Navato and Kiray Celis back and doing a segment together – the parody of the hit romantic LizQuen movie “My Ex and Whys.” They imitated the notable dramatic scene of their characters Gio and Cali, putting it a droll yet hurtful twist.
“Kinadenang Pinto”
And how could Goin’ Bulilit miss the chance of lampooning the country’s top afternoon drama, Kadenang Ginto, with its rip-roaring sketch Kinadenang Pinto? Here, they mimic the show’s popular characters with such names as Janiella, Robina, Varga and Lassie spoofing its most memorable scenes with the funniest twists.
Aside from the ones in this list, some of the other parodies we indeed looked forward on seeing every Sunday evening then were Lovers in Pares (a spoof of the 2004 K-drama Lovers in Paris), GB Patrol (a spoof of ABS-CBN’s flagship newscast TV Patrol), Ipaglaban Mwah! (a spoof of the ongoing legal drama Ipaglaban Mo), and a lot more!
As we reminisce these segments which undeniably brought relentless amusement to us as we grow, it’s indeed sad to realize that the kiddie comedy gag show that used to deliver good vibes to us before the work week starts is now coming to an end.
