12 stars you didn’t know were part of Goin’ Bulilit

In the 14 successful years of Goin’ Bulilit as the top-rating and longest-running kiddie gag show on television, we witnessed how various kid actors came and amused us with their cuteness and funny jokes and shenanigans, then made us emotional on their graduation night as they already reached the age of 12.

However, not everyone who became part of it was able to have a formal farewell for they were not able to stick around long enough to “graduate” after they either accepted the bigger roles in teleseryes bestowed to them or pursued their other passions and endeavors.

In this feature, let’s find out who among the former bulilits you may not know were former cast members of Goin’ Bulilit.

Before he was able to capture our hearts as Santino, the iconic child protagonist of the remarkable teleserye May Bukas Pa, Zaijian Jaranilla initially got us smitten with his stint on the comedy program. Since they spent most of their days then taping in Pampanga, it’s understandable why he had to leave. He starred in another drama, Lorenzo’s Time, afterwards, making his return already impossible.

The same went for Andrea Brillantes, Ella Cruz, Sophia Reola, Jana Agoncillo, and Heart Ramos who all had to step out of Goin’ Bulilit after they were tapped to star in some of the most notable series of ABS-CBN. Andrea top-billed E-Boy in 2012 and Annaliza in 2013, Ella appeared in slew of Maalaala Mo Kaya episodes and earned the titular role in the fantaserye Aryana, Sophia bagged the lead role in the 2018 daytime series Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit, Jana starred in projects like Dream Dad (2014) and Ningning (2015), and Heart took on significant roles in My Dear Heart (2017) and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

Both coming from showbiz families, it didn’t came as a surprise when Alonzo Muhlach and Nathan Prats followed the footsteps of their famous parents Niño Muhlach and Camille Prats, respectively, who also both started their careers in the industry as child stars. However, the two young actors only stayed in Goin’ Bulilit for quite some time as Alonzo opted to pursue bigger roles in TV movie and projects like Inday Bote and “Beauty and the Bestie,” while Nathan chose to focus on his studies, football, and vlogging.

Cha-Cha Cañete, Amy Nobleza, and Aaliyah Belmoro also left the show all of a sudden to pursue other career ventures. Cha-Cha decided to begin her singing career by competing in the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in 2013 and in EUROPOP in 2014, and in Tawag ng Tanghalan Celebrity Champions last year. Amy also followed other acting and singing opportunities in several Kapamilya shows and movies, with her gig as a Tawag ng Tanghalan contender last year as her latest. Meanwhile, Aaliyah, who was known then as Doors Bigornia or “Mutyatya ng Masa”, the impersonator of veteran broadcaster Doris Bigornia, had appearances on ABS-CBN programs like Dyesebel and A Love To Last.

As much as we wanted to see these child actors more on Goin’ Bulilit, we’re still proud to see them succeed in their chosen endeavors. Keep soaring high, bulilits!
