For more 10 years now, Goin’ Bulilit
has been making our Sunday afternoons a whole lot funnier and lighter. It showcases ABS-CBN's youngest talents—kids, in fact—through various segments and joke spiels in the sketch comedy show.
But, once a year, one Bulilit tradition makes both its cast and viewers cry a bucket (and more). This is the "graduation" wherein the child superstars who have reached the age of 12 to 13 are taken out of the casting to prepare them for bigger things. This is marked by an emotional episode where the graduating bulilits are taken into a retrospective of their best sketches.
In last Sunday's episode of Goin’ Bulilit
, four kids went through the same unavoidable fate. Bugoy Cariño, Brenna Garcia, Harvey Gana and Casey de Silva took their final bow as they graduated from the kiddie gag show. Clad in long gowns and suits, the four can't help but cry as their co-stars sang for them.
Goin Bulilit wasn't only a simple show for the bulilits. It also served as the little ones' training grounds for other acting genres through the various segments. It gave them the confidence that they need and transformed them to be the best person that they can be. As what Harvey said in a video, "Ibang Harvey na po ito. Improved po." The weekly program also served as their second home where their fellow bulilits are their brothers and sisters and the crew are their titos, titas, and second parents. These are the relationships that they'll forever treasure especially as they make their way in the entertainment industry.
The show has received numerous awards and nominations from a variety of award-giving bodies. With such excellence, it's not a surprise that it has also produced some of the outstanding young actors and actresses who eventually became big stars. Some of the Goin' Bulilit casts went on to become teenage idols, teleserye artists, and box-office actors. Here are some of them: 1 | 2
1) Eliza Pineda
A third batch graduate, Eliza did a lot of telenovela spoofs during her stay in Goin' Bulilit. As it turns out, it became her introduction to the world of teleseryes because she later starred in "Angelito: Batang Ama."
2) EJ Jallorina
Coming from the first batch, EJ was best known for his Boy Abunda impression. He eventually landed a supporting role in “Mara Clara.”
3) John Manalo
A fourth batch graduate, John was always the leading man in pseudo-loveteam skits in Goin' Bulilit. He eventually starred in “Tayong Dalawa” and “Mara Clara.”
